In 3000 BC, the ancient Egyptians mastered the production technology of bronze (copper-tin alloy) and invented the "bronze mirror".
1508, Italian glassworkers D 'Carlo invented practical glass mirrors. They stick tin foil on the glass surface and pour mercury on it. Mercury dissolves tin. Then, a thin layer of tin amalgam was formed on the glass, which adhered tightly to the glass and became a real mirror.
In the 1970s, scientists invented the aluminum mirror. Evaporating aluminum in vacuum makes aluminum vapor condense on the glass surface and become a thin aluminum film. This aluminized glass mirror has written a brand-new page in the history of the mirror.
