Basic steps of empirical research
The basic steps of empirical research are to determine the research problem and purpose, design research, collect data, analyze data, draw conclusions and discuss.

Step 1: Determine the research question and purpose.

Empirical papers need to have clear research problems and purposes. The problems and purposes of this study should be based on the analysis of existing studies and the understanding of research fields.

Step 2: Design and research

When designing an empirical study, you need to think about how to collect data, how to build samples, how to control variables, how to collect measurement tools and so on. The design of empirical research needs to consider internal validity, external validity, reliability, reliability and practicality.

Step 3: Collect data.

Be able to collect all kinds of data, including questionnaires, experiments, observations, in-depth interviews, archives, statistical data and documents. Data acquisition needs to record data sources, acquisition methods, data processing and data verification in detail.

Step 4: Data analysis

Analyze the collected data. Data analysis needs to use statistical methods, such as descriptive statistics, chi-square test, regression analysis and so on. It should be noted that the process of data analysis needs to choose the appropriate data analysis method according to the research problem and purpose.

Step 5: Summary and discussion

In conclusion and discussion, the experimenter needs to synthesize the data analysis results to answer the research questions and verify the research hypothesis. It is necessary to express the general conclusions and specific findings. And in the discussion session, summarize the main findings of this study and analyze which aspect the research should continue.

Matters needing attention in writing empirical papers:

1, the language expression is accurate

In the process of writing empirical papers, we need to deliberately think about how to express opinions, conclusions and findings in accurate language. This does not mean that you need to use words or sentences that are difficult to understand. On the contrary, some concepts, especially specific terms, need to be not only accurate, but also concise.

2. Fine data processing

The data used for research should be accurate, complete and carefully processed. The process of data processing is recorded in detail in the empirical paper, including basic characteristics, sample selection and processing, variable processing and data missing processing.

3. Detailed research and design.

When writing empirical papers, there needs to be a complete research and design process. Of course, if you realize a universal empirical paper, you can skip it, because the research design of a universal empirical paper is universal. The research process of empirical papers needs to be based on high-quality research literature. When selecting literature, we should give priority to the literature in high-quality journals related to empirical research.
