The basic structure of argumentative writing
The basic structure of the argument is as follows:

First of all, a brief introduction.

1, parallel. After establishing the central argument, several sub-arguments are listed in turn, which are equivalent to demonstrating a central argument, that is, the relationship between paragraphs is parallel and juxtaposed.

2. progress. Use more than three arguments to demonstrate from different angles and sides. The paragraphs deepen step by step, or from phenomenon to essence, or from cause to result, or from general to special, or from individual to universal.

3. Total score. Always say first, then divide, or divide first, then say forever, or always say first, then divide, and then say forever.

Second, argumentative writing

1. Argumentative writing, also called reasoning writing, is a style of analyzing things, discussing things, expressing opinions and putting forward opinions. By presenting facts, reasoning, distinguishing right from wrong and giving examples, the author can determine whether a viewpoint is right or wrong, and establish or deny a proposition. Argumentative writing has the characteristics of clear viewpoints, sufficient arguments, concise language, reasonable argumentation and strict logic.

2. Express the author's thoughts and feelings indirectly with vivid narration, which is different from narrative writing and explanatory writing, which focuses on introducing or explaining the shape, nature, causes and functions of things. In a word, argumentative writing is an article that convinces people with reasoning, while narrative writing and expository writing are articles that move people with things and teach people with knowledge.

Third, the connotation

1, logical characteristics: the language of argumentative writing must be accurate, distinctive, rigorous and targeted. There should also be a very clear logical relationship between paragraphs, such as total score, contrast, progression and parallelism. Highlight this relationship with the help of turning sentences or related words.

2. Thinking: Because argumentative writing rewards good and punishes evil and persuades people, it must be persuasive and have a correct value orientation. In serious political lessons, we often read some rational articles, famous sayings and epigrams, which will improve our ideological quality and cognitive ability.

3. At the same time, we should pay attention to distinguish between the central argument and the sub-argument: an argumentative paper has only one central argument, and the sub-argument is used to supplement or discuss the central argument.
