At present, the construction of insurance specialty in colleges and universities pays more attention to theory than practice, and the practice teaching methods are backward, the teaching teachers are scarce, and the teaching quality evaluation mechanism is lacking, which leads to poor practice teaching effect. The insurance graduates trained by colleges and universities can not meet the demand of practical professionals in the insurance market, and there is an imbalance between supply and demand.

Finance is the core of modern economy, and insurance is not only one of the three pillars of finance, but also a "stabilizer" for the sustained and healthy development of modern economy. Insurance talents are indispensable for insurance development. However, for an application-oriented university like Zhengzhou Shengda University, there are some problems in insurance teaching, such as attaching importance to theoretical knowledge rather than ability training, and attaching importance to classroom practice rather than extracurricular practice. The students trained in this way generally lack practical ability, communication ability and innovative consciousness, and cannot meet the social demand for insurance talents. Therefore, how to strengthen insurance professional practice and cultivate insurance talents that meet the needs of industry development is one of the important topics in current teaching practice.

First, the importance of insurance professional practice teaching

Practice teaching is a teaching link designed to cooperate with theoretical teaching, cultivate students' ability to analyze and solve problems, strengthen professional training and exercise students' practical ability. It is one of the important links in the training of insurance professionals.

(1) Strengthen insurance practice teaching and cultivate students' vocational interest.

Students are the main body of learning, and traditional teachers teach students to learn, on the one hand, it will make the classroom boring; On the other hand, it is difficult to deepen the understanding and application of knowledge. Through practical teaching, allowing students to participate in classroom and extracurricular activities can improve students' interest in learning and practical awareness, thus prompting them to strengthen the study of professional knowledge and improve their skills, from "forced to learn" to "I want to learn". Practice teaching can not only improve students' ability to analyze and solve problems, but more importantly, it is of great help to students' ability to innovate and adapt to social development.

(2) Strengthen the teaching of insurance practice and train applicable talents for the development of China's insurance industry.

According to the forward-looking forecast of insurance experts on the insurance market in China, the annual growth rate of the insurance industry can reach 30%, and this trend is expected to continue for 15 ~ 20 years. The adjustment of the insurance industry structure, the demand for talents from new insurance companies and bank insurance businesses, and the development of social security physique will all increase the demand for insurance talents in the market. However, the insurance talent market is facing an imbalance in quantity and quality. On the one hand, the serious imbalance between demand and supply has led to the continuous poaching of the insurance industry; On the other hand, the supply of insurance talents is out of touch with jobs, experience and skills, so it is difficult for insurance graduates to find satisfactory jobs. Because most of the positions recruited by insurance companies are salesmen, and graduates often want to do management and back office work directly because of industry and job bias, which leads to a serious imbalance between supply and demand.

Second, the main problems existing in the practice teaching of insurance specialty

(1) The employment position of insurance major is inaccurate.

At present, the training objectives of insurance majors offered by many application-oriented undergraduate colleges are unclear and the training specifications are unrealistic, which leads to the fact that insurance majors learn more professional knowledge and skills, which can not meet the requirements of employment. According to relevant statistics, the number of marketing posts in the insurance industry accounts for 80% of the total number of posts, and there is a shortage of human resources in insurance marketing posts. Insurance majors in application-oriented universities should first position themselves in insurance marketing rather than insurance managers.

(B) The practice teaching plan is not perfect, and the evaluation system is not perfect.

According to the 20 1 1 year training plan of our hospital, insurance-related courses include insurance theory, insurance practice, actuarial science, insurance company management and social insurance, but there is a lack of case analysis of property insurance and personal insurance, and practical courses such as insurance policy filling, insurance sales, insurance claim settlement and insurance survey.

The practical teaching plan of insurance major, professional theory teaching plan and other financial major have no clear practical teaching objectives. Judging from the whole teaching plan, there is only the practical link after the summer vacation of sophomore year, but this link is mostly chosen by students, and the effect is not good. The key is that the management system of practical teaching is imperfect, especially the lack of effective management and assessment system of practical teaching. Students' summer internship is more about coping, but can't really exercise and improve. At the same time, curriculum practice, social practice, graduation thesis and other links are completed by different teachers, which lacks overall arrangement and coordination and does not form a complete practical teaching system.

(C) The financial laboratory needs to be improved.

At present, the financial control center of our college has become a modern financial laboratory, equipped with standard securities investment simulation trading and commercial banking business simulation operating systems, so that students can obtain the same real-time stock market information and related information as securities companies in the laboratory, and carry out simulated investment practice accordingly, which is completely consistent with actual investment except virtual funds. In addition, there are perfect research databases in various fields of finance, but there is a lack of practical operation of insurance, such as the filling of insurance policies, the simulation of insurance billing system and the simulation of insurance claims.

(D) The practice teaching link is decoupled, and the teaching method is single, which can not reach the goal of practice teaching.

On the one hand, the insurance direction of our college lacks a perfect system of course experiment, practice, course thesis and graduation thesis, and all links are decoupled from each other, so the experimental projects cannot be carried out and the teaching hours cannot be met; Curriculum practice is too formal, mainly depends on students' independent choice, and lacks effective practice base. The resulting papers are rarely investigated in depth, and the quality of the articles is not high. At present, practice teaching is mainly based on case teaching. Although it can arouse students' learning enthusiasm and improve their ability to analyze, solve and express problems orally, it is still an armchair strategist, which is far from reality.

(E) Insurance teachers lack social experience and practical experience.

There are three insurance teachers in our hospital, one of whom graduated from insurance major and the other two from finance major, without any working experience in insurance companies. In addition, the management system of the college makes it difficult for teachers to participate in the internship of insurance companies in their spare time. Teachers are in a dominant position in the process of student training, and the quality of teachers directly restricts the quality of talent training. The teacher's empty theory lacks practice, so it is difficult to teach students practical experience in line with the development of the industry. Although the professional foundation is solid and the lessons are well prepared, it is inevitable to follow the book and talk in general terms, and it is difficult to correctly grasp the demand for talents in the insurance market.

Third, thinking about strengthening the practice teaching mode of insurance specialty

(A) improve the teaching plan and practice evaluation system.

First of all, we should improve the teaching plan, which is mainly reflected in the case analysis course and practical teaching links, curriculum practice and so on. For example, increase the courses of case analysis of property insurance and life insurance. Secondly, improve the practice evaluation system. For the summer internship of sophomores, on the one hand, the college can contact and specify the internship place in advance, and secondly, strengthen the evaluation of the internship, so that students can really get exercise from the internship through strict evaluation, thus establishing a correct view of employment; Thirdly, correct students' employment concept, don't just want to be managers in insurance companies, but have practical experience of starting at the grassroots level and then gradually promoting, which is difficult to be competent for management work such as back office.

(2) Improve the insurance-related practical projects of the Financial Control Center.

The laboratory of financial control center can better meet the practice of commercial banks and securities business, and should increase insurance practical software such as insurance policy filing, insurance claim settlement and insurance system operation.

(3) Establish high-quality teachers and improve the level of practical teaching.

Teachers are the key to practice teaching and cultivate high-quality talents. Suggestions: First, strengthen teachers' own practical links and improve their practical ability. To provide teachers with internship opportunities in insurance companies, we can start with basic insurance salesmen, find out the shortcomings in teaching practice and improve them. Secondly, employees of insurance companies with rich work experience are invited to give lectures in our hospital regularly. Thirdly, appropriately relax the requirements of teachers' academic qualifications and hire insurance company personnel to teach insurance practice, insurance marketing and other courses.

(four) the construction of Industry-University-Research cooperative education base, strengthen the management of practice base.

Relying on universities, the Insurance Regulatory Bureau, insurance industry associations, insurance companies, insurance intermediaries, etc. , the establishment of insurance Industry-University-Research cooperative education base, establish a good interaction mechanism between industry and academia. On the one hand, the industry can mobilize all kinds of resources to serve the training of teaching staff and the improvement of teaching quality, and enhance the effect of practical teaching of insurance specialty by means of student practice base, company executives participating in the revision of teaching plan and company executives entering the classroom. On the other hand, internship students can provide low-cost and dynamic human resources for the company, and also help to reserve talents.
