"Make Hengshui Lake more beautiful, we are in action!" -Environmental investigation of Hengshui Lake

Time: Monday, July 24th, 2065438 19, 2065 438- Saturday 20th10.

Venue: Hengshui City, Hebei Province

Day 1: Sampling

It was 12 o'clock when we arrived at Hengshui bus station, but the fatigue of traveling by boat didn't affect our passion and enthusiasm for practice at all. After lunch, we took the 18 bus and went straight to the destination Hengshui Lake. After arriving at the destination, we carried out the first task according to the original arrangement: to fully understand the living conditions of residents around Hengshui Lake, as well as the ecological environment and living conditions of biological species in the lake area.

Investigation of biological species. We will observe the growth of plants such as corn, rice, lotus, reed, Euryale ferox and water chestnut in Hengshui Lake and its surrounding areas, and carefully observe animals such as carp, crucian carp and snail.

Eco-environmental investigation This time, we mainly sampled and tested the underwater sludge of coastal water quality, and took photos for reference. Collect the surrounding soil properly and verify the pH value.

We carefully sampled and prepared to take it back to the laboratory for water quality monitoring. It was very late when it was finished.

"Public opinion survey" is the second part of our practice. First, let the master (who is a local and has deep feelings and understanding of Hengshui Lake) fill in the questionnaire prepared in advance. The master not only filled in the questionnaire enthusiastically and seriously, but also explained many historical stories and interesting people about Hengshui Lake:

Through the in-depth understanding of Hengshui Lake National Nature Reserve by local people and fishermen yesterday, we know that the government and its relevant departments have paid more attention to the management and protection of Hengshui Lake in recent two years. So we held "Let Hengshui Lake be more beautiful, we are acting!" Banner signing activity!

This publicity is aimed at tourists, fishermen and related staff, and we will also go to nearby primary and secondary schools to publicize and educate these future builders and successors of the motherland. Let them develop the consciousness of cherishing and protecting water resources from childhood, and let them have a sense of responsibility of "making Mother Lake more beautiful, with you and me", and learn to use what they have learned to protect Mother Lake, protect the environment and protect our own home!

Visit Hengshui Lake Management Committee

After understanding, we learned that Hengshui Lake is now directly managed by Hengshui Lake Management Committee. Finally, we will send the concrete results of our research activities, existing related problems, measures that need to be taken by official departments, and our college students' own views and ideas to the management Committee in the form of reports. The leaders said that they welcomed and would certainly adopt appropriate suggestions. After the filming, Director Li also shook hands with each of us, which made us deeply moved and felt the significance of this practical activity and the responsibility we shouldered.

The samples we brought back for water quality testing.

Using the knowledge of sewage treatment we have learned to test water pollution, we know the principle and method of ion exchange purification and the qualitative identification method of inorganic ion impurities in natural water.

1 ion exchange method for purifying water

Natural water is mainly inorganic impurity ions, as well as some gases, organic substances and microorganisms. The purified water obtained by removing inorganic impurity ions from natural water is called deionized water. The experimental method of preparing deionized water is ion exchange method, and the industrial methods of preparing deionized water include electrodialysis and reverse osmosis besides ion exchange method.

2 Electrical conductivity and water quality inspection of water

The more impurity ions in water, the stronger the conductivity of water and the greater the conductivity of water, so the relative content of impurity ions in water can be judged according to the conductivity of water. Evaluate the purity of water.

The detection shows that at present, the over-standard items in the polluted river reach are mainly coliform bacteria, nonionic nitrogen, petroleum, dissolved oxygen and PH value, among which mineral pollution and chemical pollution are the most serious.

In addition to the white garbage pollution brought by tourists such as mineral water bottles and plastic bags, the non-point source pollution from rural areas is also worrying. We hope that the relevant departments will increase the salvage work of some lake garbage in the lake area and post propaganda slogans such as "For the sake of beautiful lakes, please don't throw garbage at will".

After nearly a week of practical activities, we have gained a lot. This is the first time that we have traveled long distances to practice since we entered the university. Although we are very tired, we have encountered various difficulties in the process, but because we have a strong and enthusiastic heart, we have accomplished this practical task well, and we also know the importance of unity, cooperation and division of labor. We also deeply realize that team spirit is a necessary condition for success! This practice has fully cultivated our practical ability and communication ability, and has also been unanimously affirmed and supported by the local people and the leaders of the management Committee!

Hello!

I'm glad that you received us so warmly. As students of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering of North China Electric Power University, we are very sensitive to environmental protection. We regard protecting the environment and protecting our homeland as our responsibility! Therefore, in the first practice of our freshman year, with our enthusiasm, we hope to do our bit for environmental protection, a big problem that has attracted more and more attention!

Because of the unique natural landscape of Hengshui Lake Nature Reserve and the typicality, rarity and particularity of the protected objects, Hengshui Lake has attracted wide attention from all walks of life as the research object.

After our field trip, we really felt the vastness of the lake area, saw the beautiful lotus flowers in the lake area, saw the wild ducks playing on the lake, ate delicious roasted duck eggs for the first time, and the beautiful reeds blowing from the lake, which made people feel relaxed and happy! But such a beautiful and attractive scenery is polluted, what a pity!

We took water samples, took them to the school laboratory for water quality testing, and carefully observed various plants. We felt that the present situation was not optimistic.

Hengshui Lake is so rich in resources that it can introduce new circular economy models, such as "Sangji Fish Pond" management model, which will be beneficial to environmental protection and economic benefits.

We also hope that the CMC can do more publicity in attracting investment, vigorously develop tourism, introduce various freshwater recreational projects, and make full use of the scenic resources of Hengshui Lake as soon as possible.

There is also the problem of water pollution. As far as we know, there are no specific measures to clean up the floating garbage on the lake. I hope the relevant departments can arrange it as soon as possible. Of course, some environmental protection slogans can be made to make tourists realize the importance of civilized tourism and environmental protection. We college students will do our best to contribute to the protection of the lake area!
