Xu Xiutang

Xu Xiutang, male, born in 1939, Beipiao, Liaoning. Member of China-Japan Friendship Calligraphers Association, executive director of Fuzhou Art Friendship Association, and vice chairman of Modern National Calligraphy and Painting Artists Association. 1985 to 1988 studied at China Calligraphy and Painting Correspondence University, Beijing Branch. Hold five individual calligraphy exhibitions. He has won the third prize of calligraphy and couplets in the National Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition of "Hometown of Overseas Chinese Cup", the calligraphy Excellence Award in the National Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition of "Love My Great Wall", the calligraphy Excellence Award in the National Amateur Painting and Calligraphy Competition of "Hope Cup" and the third prize in the National Painting and Calligraphy Photography Exhibition of "Grassland". Xu Xiutang, born in February 1937, is a senior arts and crafts artist, a master of arts and crafts in China, a member of China Artists Association, a director of China Ceramic Art Association, and a librarian of Jiangsu Provincial Museum of Literature and History.

Character experience

From 65438 to 0954, he studied the decorative skills of pottery carving with Ren Ganting, a pottery sculptor. 1955 Joined Shushan Ceramic Production Cooperative (predecessor of Zisha Factory). 65438-0958 studied in the sculpture research class of folk artists of the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts, and then transferred to the studio of "Clay Fighter Zhang" to study folk clay sculpture.

1959 participated in the sculpture creation of the martyrs monument in Huaihai Campaign. 1968 presided over and successfully trial-produced the large-scale purple sand pottery sculpture "Chairman Mao went to Anyuan" with a height of 2.8 meters. 1972, various creative design research work was resumed, and clay materials suitable for sculpture production were successfully trial-produced, and methods such as coloring, inlaying and shearing were adopted.
