Fudan University, referred to as Fudan for short, is located in Shanghai, China. It is under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) and directly under the central government. Ranked in the top two of 2 1 1 plan and 985 plan, and selected as "Everest Plan" and "1/plan". As a member of "Nine Schools Alliance", China University Presidents Association, East Asia Research University Association, Pacific Rim University Association and 2 1 Century University Association, it is a comprehensive research-oriented national key university.
Fudan University was founded in 1905 and formerly known as Fudan College. It is the first institution of higher learning independently established by the people of China. Its founder was Ma, a famous educator in modern China, and the first chairman was Sun Yat-sen, the father of the country.
