Cultural connotation reflected by cat plot
Abstract: Cats are one of the common pets in Japanese families. According to historical records, in Nara period of Japan, cats and Buddhist scriptures were introduced to Japan through China in order to prevent them from being bitten by rats. At first, only members of the royal family could have cats, so cats were a symbol of power. During the Meiji period, cats entered thousands of households, and the cat culture reached its peak. The Japanese people have created many literary images based on cats in their long life, such as Natsume Soseki's Lucky Cat, My Generation is a Cat, Robot Cat and Hello Kitty. The appearance of these artistic images is inseparable from the unique plot of Japanese treating cats. Based on the nationality and psychology of the Japanese nation, this paper analyzes the cultural connotation reflected by the cat plot of the Japanese nation.

1. Introduction
Cats are one of the livestock closely related to human beings. Cats are good at catching mice. It is precisely because of this natural nature that humans began to raise domestic cats as early as 4000 to 6000 years ago. During the Nara period in Japan, cats and Buddhist scriptures were introduced to Japan through China in order to prevent them from being bitten by rats. Now it seems that although the footprints of cats have spread all over the world, the influence of cats on different countries' cultures is also very different. In China, cats have always been disliked by people, and most of them are accused of being too poor, loving the rich and following the trend. Therefore, in the profound traditional culture of China, it is difficult for us to find cultural reflection on cats. However, in neighboring Japan, which is separated only by a strip of water, it is a completely different situation.
