What is a cssci collection?
Citation Index of Chinese Social Sciences is a key project of the State and the Ministry of Education. CSSCI follows the law of bibliometrics, adopts the method of combining quantitative and qualitative evaluation, and selects journals with strong academic and standardized editing from more than 2,700 Chinese academic journals of humanities and social sciences as source journals.

It has collected more than 500 academic journals in 25 categories, such as law, management, economy, history and politics, and developed the annual data of CSSCI (1998-2009)12, with nearly1000000 articles and more than 6 million citations.

There are seven core journals (or source journals) selection systems in China:

1, Chinese Core Journal of Peking University Library;

2. Nanjing University "China Social Science Citation Index (CSSCI) Source Periodical";

3. China Institute of Science and Technology Information, China Statistical Source Journal of Scientific Papers (CSTPCD, also known as China Science and Technology Core Journal);

4. China Science Citation Database Source Journal (CSCD) of China Academy of Sciences Information Center;

5. Outline of Core Journals of Humanities and Social Sciences in China, developed by the Document Information Center of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The first edition was published in 2000, and the citation database of humanities and social sciences in China (CHSCD) was established.

6. The Catalogue of China Core Journals was developed by Professor Qiu Junping of Wuhan University.

7. The Comprehensive Citation Report of China Academic Journals, jointly developed by Tsinghua University Library and China Academic Journals (CD-ROM Edition), is published once a year. Establishment of Chinese citation database.
