The Heart Center of Beijing Children's Hospital of Capital Medical University provides various diagnosis and treatment services for children of all ages, including congenital and acquired cardiovascular diseases and arrhythmia. Our goal is to provide all available medical services for children and their parents by using the latest progress in medical technology and our rich experience.
Therefore, the Heart Center closely combines pediatric cardiology, cardiac surgery, cardiac ICU, interventional therapy of congenital heart disease, electrophysiological and arrhythmia interventional therapy, echocardiography, electrocardiogram and various stress tests to provide outpatient and inpatient diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases in children, surgical intervention and interventional therapy of congenital heart disease, electrophysiological examination and radiofrequency ablation therapy of arrhythmia, echocardiography and other imaging diagnosis, electrocardiogram and various drugs or exercise stress tests.
Pediatric cardiology
Cardiovascular medicine was founded by Professor Liang Yichang, a famous pediatric cardiovascular expert, in the 1980s, including a cardiovascular specialist clinic, a professional clinic and a 40-bed cardiology ward. He has rich clinical experience in treating common and difficult diseases of cardiovascular system, such as viral myocarditis and fulminant myocarditis, heart failure caused by various reasons, dilated cardiomyopathy, restrictive cardiomyopathy and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, hypertension in children, various arrhythmia such as premature beats, supraventricular tachycardia and ventricular tachycardia, heart block, bradycardia, rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease, Kawasaki disease, vagus nerve inhibitory syncope, etc.
In addition to busy clinical work, the Department of Cardiology has actively carried out or participated in a large number of scientific research topics in the epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases in children, such as the onset, diagnosis and treatment of refractory Kawasaki disease in children, the diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmia in children, the temporary pacemaker treatment of fulminant viral myocarditis, the analysis and reasonable treatment of high-risk factors of dilated cardiomyopathy in children, the early diagnosis and treatment of secondary cardiomyopathy, the genetic diagnosis and treatment of hereditary arrhythmia with long QT interval extension syndrome, and so on. Cardiology is the undertaking unit of the teaching task of pediatric cardiovascular specialty in Capital Medical University. In addition to undergraduate teaching and advanced doctoral teaching, more than 10 graduate students have been trained. At present, there are two graduate tutors.

Pediatric cardiac surgery
Beijing Children's Hospital has been established for 25 years. Under the leadership of Professor Chung Chi Li, the current president of Beijing Children's Hospital and the founder of cardiac surgery, after years of unremitting efforts, the academic level of this department is in a leading position in the field of infant cardiac surgery in China. 65438-0999 Approved by Beijing Municipal Health Bureau, Beijing Children's Congenital Heart Disease Treatment Center was formally established in Beijing Children's Hospital. As a part of the heart center, the congenital heart disease treatment center includes two parts: surgical treatment of congenital heart disease and transcatheter interventional treatment. Thousands of heart operations have been completed, and the survival rate is over 98%. Minimum 3 days, weighing 3800 grams. Especially, the operation and postoperative monitoring of critically ill children such as large ventricular septal defect and tetralogy of Fallot are more unique, which makes a large number of children with congenital heart disease save their lives because of timely treatment. In recent years, we have been committed to solving the complex congenital heart disease of newborns and infants. Among them, 1 child with pulmonary atresia 8 days after birth successfully performed open heart surgery under cardiopulmonary bypass, which is the first case in China. Among the surgical patients, 70% are complex malformations and critical cases, including a large number of children with left-to-right shunt congenital heart disease secondary to severe pulmonary hypertension, pneumonia and heart failure, as well as complex diseases such as complete transposition of great arteries, complete anomalous pulmonary vein drainage, complete atrioventricular passage and double outlet of right ventricle. In addition, cardiac surgery helped the cardiac surgery departments of Changchun Children's Hospital, jinan military area command Hospital, Tianjin Children's Hospital, Dalian Children's Hospital and Shijiazhuang Children's Hospital to carry out the surgical treatment of congenital heart disease in infants, which was well received by local hospitals. There are hundreds of cases of heart surgery every year, of which 70% are infants under 2 years old and 50% are infants under 1 year old.
In recent years, the conditions of medical equipment have also been improved, and 8 million yuan has been invested to update and expand the beds and cardiopulmonary bypass equipment in the intensive care unit of cardiac surgery. In the next few years, it is planned to invest millions of yuan to update more advanced ventilators, transesophageal ultrasonic monitoring instruments and central multifunctional monitoring stations, so as to create better conditions for the treatment of complex congenital heart defects in infants.
At present, there are full professors (chief physicians), 5 deputy chief physicians, 3 residents and 2 doctoral and master students. In recent years, he has published dozens of papers, won a scientific research achievement award, trained 7 graduate students and 2 doctoral students, and carried out a large number of international academic exchanges. Many cardiac surgeons and nurses have visited or studied in the United States, Japan, Germany, Italy, Russia and other countries, and invited many foreign experts to give academic lectures and operations. Interventional therapy and angiocardiography of congenital heart disease
Interventional therapy of heart disease is an alternative treatment method of heart surgery, which can be completed by percutaneous puncture of blood vessels and sending corresponding materials with special catheters without thoracotomy, avoiding the pain and trauma of surgery, recovering quickly, being safe and reliable, and it is one of the main advances in the treatment of heart disease in children in recent years. Our center started transcatheter interventional therapy from 1989. Balloon, coil, occluder and stent were used to treat various congenital heart diseases, including valve stenosis, arteriovenous fistula, patent ductus arteriosus, atrial septal defect and ventricular septal defect, and satisfactory results were obtained. In addition, we also have some experience in treating coronary artery stenosis caused by Kawasaki disease in children.
When the non-invasive diagnosis technology can not be completely diagnosed, transcatheter angiocardiography is an invasive diagnosis method. Percutaneous puncture of blood vessels can further understand the anatomical structure and blood flow of the heart or great vessels after high-pressure injection of contrast media in special parts of the heart or great vessels through special cardiac catheters, and can also understand the hemodynamic changes of the heart by measuring blood oxygen in different parts.
At present, the center has a double-C-arm cardiovascular imaging machine and corresponding cardiac catheter equipment participating in the 1250 mA X X line, with a chief physician 1 person, two deputy chief physicians and an attending physician 1 person.

Electrophysiology and interventional therapy of arrhythmia
Intracardiac electrophysiological examination and radiofrequency ablation are interventional operations that are delivered to probe electrodes or radiofrequency catheters through femoral vein puncture and reach the heart cavity along blood vessels.
Radiofrequency ablation is the only way to cure supraventricular tachycardia. Since it came out in the 1980s, it has gradually matured. The overall success rate is 97%. It has the advantages of quick response, less trauma and relatively low cost. In the past, supraventricular tachycardia was only treated by drugs or thoracotomy. Drugs need to be taken every day, which is time-consuming and requires regular follow-up because of side effects. Because of the poor curative effect, the types of drugs may be changed repeatedly, which brings great inconvenience and even danger to patients. However, thoracotomy is traumatic and difficult to popularize.
There are obvious anatomical differences between children and adults. For example, children's heart cavity is narrow, the blood vessel wall is thin, the valve is immature and easy to be damaged, and the reproductive organs are not yet mature, so they are very sensitive to X-rays and easy to be damaged. This determines that pediatric patients must be operated by pediatric professionals. The anesthesia, X-ray protection, catheter operation, medication and monitoring of surgery are obviously different from those of adult patients.
Beijing Children's Hospital introduced the most advanced radiofrequency ablation equipment in China, redesigned the surgical catheter room and successfully carried out this kind of operation. At the same time, Beijing Children's Hospital has complete specialties and strong technical force in cardiothoracic surgery, ICU, anesthesiology and cardiology. It is well guaranteed from the aspects of preoperative preparation, intraoperative radiation protection, catheter operation, postoperative monitoring and discharge. Cardiac imaging diagnosis includes non-invasive echocardiography, ultra-high speed spiral CT, cardiac X-ray examination and invasive angiocardiography.
Echocardiography room has a history of 20 years. There are 2 chief physicians, 2 deputy chief physicians and 2 attending physicians, all of whom have been trained by conventional echocardiography. The number of echocardiograms exceeds10,000 cases every year, including various types of congenital and acquired heart diseases. He has rich experience in the diagnosis of complex cardiac malformation, and has been used to treat myocarditis, cardiomyopathy, endocardial elastofibroplasia, Kawasaki disease, endocarditis, pericardial disease, rheumatic heart disease in children and other hearts. At present, we are equipped with five sets of the most advanced echocardiography instruments in the world. In addition to conventional transthoracic echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography in children, transesophageal echocardiography or epicardial echocardiography in perioperative period, drug stress echocardiography, cardiac contrast echocardiography and three-dimensional echocardiography were also carried out, which greatly improved the level of diagnosis and adjuvant treatment of heart disease.
In cooperation with the imaging center, the heart center also provides cardiac X-ray examination, including ordinary chest film and ultra-high-speed spiral CT, which provides an auxiliary role for the correct diagnosis of congenital and acquired cardiovascular diseases.
