Charles Baudelaire (182 1 ~ 1867) and19th century, the comet that broke the night sky of French literature, the prodigal son of bourgeois society, turned "evil" into "beauty" and turned decay into a magical singer, and suffered a lot. His collection of poems, Flowers of Evil, is regarded as the Bible of decadent school, the crown of symbolism poetry and the pioneer of modernist literature. If Goethe's Faust reflects the 300-year mental journey of European intellectuals after the Renaissance and records the tragedy of Faust's pursuit of knowledge, love, politics, beauty and career, then Baudelaire's Flower of Evil reflects the artists who were expelled from the ivory tower and "upper class" in Europe in the19th century to explore the true meaning of art, social reality, corruption and religion.

Baudelaire published a unique collection of prose poems, Melancholy in Paris (1869) and Artificial Paradise (1860). His literary criticism, a glimpse of aesthetics (1868) and romantic art also have a certain position in the history of French literary criticism. Baudelaire also translated Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio and The Sequel of Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio by American poet Poe.
