Interviewer profile: liuyong, a graduate of Chongqing Vocational College of Engineering at Grade 20 10, is now a cost engineer and builder of Chongqing Construction Engineering Third Construction Equipment Installation Branch. I graduated from our school majoring in engineering cost, and my academic performance and communication and organization ability are outstanding, and I have won many national awards.

Interview content:

Q: Hello, it's a great honor for you to give me such an opportunity to interview you. First of all, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to accept my interview.

Ok, you're welcome. I'm also happy to answer your questions for you.

Q: What kind of expectations do you have for the engineering cost major before you officially start working?

A: At that time, I was like a "newborn calf not afraid of tigers", full of hope for my future, eager to get out as soon as possible, not to be trapped in a quiet campus life, and sometimes I fantasized that I would easily find an ideal position.

Q: I am also a major in engineering cost. Can you briefly introduce this major? I hope to know more about it.

A: The major of engineering cost is an interdisciplinary subject of calculation and engineering, and it also involves basic knowledge of law. The main purpose of this major is to budget, estimate and evaluate the cost of a project before, during and after construction.

Q: What do you think of the future of this industry in 3-5 years? What will happen?

A: Engineering cost specialty is a new specialty developed on the basis of construction engineering management specialty. Every project needs the full participation of the budgeter from the start to the completion, and the cost consultation center has its own budgeter from the owner to the construction unit and the impartial party. Obviously, this professional has a great social demand, a wide range of employment and many employment opportunities.

Q: What knowledge, skills and experience do you think people who do this job well should have?

A: Your job after graduation is basically related to the construction field. In fact, in the process of professional study, there should be more detailed development. For example, in the study of engineering cost specialty, you will also come into contact with project management, engineering cost, engineering drawing, real estate and so on. If you can learn one or several of these things, you can get some certificates, such as project management division Certificate, Engineering Cost Engineer Certificate, CAD (Drawing) Grade Certificate, Real Estate Appraiser Certificate and so on. With these, there will be a clear goal for employment, or for the related occupations in the field of construction in the future.

Q: Do you think it is necessary for our major to take the postgraduate entrance examination?

A: It depends on your own situation. Any major can take the postgraduate entrance examination. The key depends on your personal thoughts. If you really want to make achievements in this field, or have deeper attainments in theory. Then it is worthwhile to spend a few years studying. And you think time is not worth it, and you want to go out early, or just because of economic reasons, then maybe a few years is better than school. When you choose, you should ask your heart and compare what you got after taking the postgraduate entrance examination with what you got after working for several years. Which road is suitable for your own development, then you choose which road. Once you choose, you should stick to it without hesitation.

Q: Can you give me some suggestions for the major of social environment and project cost at present?

A: With the continuous improvement of China's qualification certification system, engineers and technicians in the civil engineering industry not only need to be proficient in professional knowledge and technology, but also need to obtain necessary qualification certificates. Relevant professional qualifications of engineering and technical personnel mainly include national first-class and second-class registered architects, national registered civil engineers and national first-class and second-class registered structural engineers. It should be noted that these professional qualifications require a certain number of years of relevant work experience before they can apply. Therefore, graduates majoring in civil engineering should pay attention to the update of knowledge structure and apply for relevant professional qualifications as soon as possible even after they take up their jobs. College students who want to engage in engineering and technical work can choose construction site survey, construction materials, geotechnical engineering, subgrade, pavement, and construction and survey of small bridges and culverts in road and bridge sections during their internship.

Q: What are the differences between the personal qualities, personalities and abilities required in this job and those required in other jobs?

A: First of all, I have relatively high computing ability. Because the project cost is only a budget, it requires higher personal computing power. Character should be rigorous and serious, and handle the budget. Your budget may have a great influence on the later construction, so the significance must be cautious.

Q: What is the relationship between the project cost and the tendering company?

Answer: The project cost is the budget in the project. When bidding for a project or project, the bidding company shall make a preliminary evaluation before starting to help the bidding company obtain the project. Therefore, the bidding company is closely related to the project cost.

Q: What can the engineering cost major do?

Answer: The project costs generally include construction, installation, roads and bridges, municipal administration, gardens and decoration. Customers usually have high incomes, are widely employed and have higher salaries.

Q: What is your main job now? Why did you choose this job?

A: Well, now I am mainly engaged in the work of installation builder in our company, supplemented by the simple work of cost builder. You should know that if you want to do the cost work well, then knowledge is accumulated on the spot.

Tiredness is essential. As for why I chose this job, I like installation engineering. Only by doing what you like can you have the motivation to do this job well.

Q: What is the starting salary for this job? What is the income of a person with 3-5 years working experience?

A: Speaking of starting salary, it's really hard to answer you. It depends on everyone's fate. Most of the fresh graduates are in 800-2500. If you are willing to work hard at this job, your income will generally reach 6500- 10000 yuan per month after 3-5 years.

Q: Excuse me, can you introduce me to 2-3 of your colleagues?

A: That's no problem. I'll introduce it to you after this. You can also communicate with them more, they are all great, and of course you are not bad, hehe.

Me: Thank you very much for answering so many questions for me. I wish you success in your work.

Second, the summary report of interviews with college students' career planning figures

The complexity and diversity of society are unpredictable, which books, networks and schools cannot feel and understand. Without personal experience, you can't clearly understand the real situation of today's employment situation, so you can only isolate yourself from society.

This interview with career figures has given me great feelings and great help. I also want to sum up the feelings of this activity as follows:

1. First of all, you need to locate what you are doing and have a career plan.

2. Actively strive for opportunities for learning and progress.

3. Accumulate personal credibility. From the first day of your career, you should act on the principle of honesty. To do this, when someone mentions your name, say that this person is not bad and can do things well.

4. Pay attention to the utilization of resources. If you have rich relatives, successful elders or friends, you can make full use of these opportunities and get a smoother development prospect.

5. Pay attention to the accumulation of contacts. After all, career depends on social network resources. Pay attention to know people in your industry and make friends with them. In the end, they will help your career.

6. Listen to the opinions of successful predecessors and successful friends. Pay less attention to the opinions of the elders at home, especially those who have retired. Their understanding of society remained a long time ago, and great changes have taken place in this society. Most importantly, elders sometimes force you to do something, but they are not responsible for the final result. Only you can be responsible for yourself. Opportunities are reserved for those who are prepared, so we should make full preparations for ourselves to enter the big society in this small social circle. From now on, we should actively pay attention to social dynamic development, learn professional knowledge, accumulate social experience, broaden our contacts and pave the way for our future.

7. Learn computer well. Computer production, even project management, project budget and other work are also done by computers. Therefore, we can't use it to play games and chat online all day. We should use it to learn AutoCAD, PKPM and other software well.

In short, through this interview with college students' career planners, we have a better understanding of the construction industry, and also see the bright future of the construction industry. With the rapid development of China's economy, the number of projects will inevitably increase. This is both an opportunity and a challenge for us. What we can do now is to master professional knowledge and improve our social skills. In addition, we should pay attention to practice, as the saying goes, "Practice makes perfect". Some things seem difficult, but if you really put your heart and soul into them, you will find that this is not the case. This point was vividly reflected in every major construction project last semester. I remember that every time the teacher assigns a big homework, he will give us the excellent manuscript of the last session for reference. At that time, people always complained that homework was too difficult. However, it's not that difficult to draw by yourself. We believe that the knowledge gained through our own practice will be deeply imprinted in our hearts and become our inexhaustible wealth.
