The basic structure of argumentative paper consists of three parts: introduction, theory and conclusion. Generally speaking, the introduction is the beginning, the theory is the theme and the conclusion is the end. In other words, you must put forward a topic or argument at the beginning, choose materials for the main part, demonstrate your views several times, and summarize the conclusion at the end.

Argumentative writing is different from narrative writing, which indirectly expresses the author's thoughts and feelings by vivid narration, and also from explanatory writing, which focuses on introducing or explaining the shape, nature, reasons and functions of things. In a word, argumentative writing is an article that convinces people with reasoning, while narrative writing and expository writing are articles that move people with things and teach people with knowledge.

There are three main types of argumentative essays: progressive, parallel and comparative:

1, progressive structure. Writing argumentative essays often needs constant extension and expansion, revealing the development law of things layer by layer, and adopting hierarchical structure is appropriate. Hierarchical structure can explain the truth of the problem thoroughly, so that readers can see it at a glance.

2. Parallel structure. Some of the contents contained in the central argument are parallel to each other. To demonstrate this kind of problems, we must focus on the central argument, find these parallel related contents, and form sub-arguments.

3. Control structure. If we can compare two diametrically opposed viewpoints and practices together and adopt a comparative structure, we will certainly be able to better demonstrate the credibility of the correct viewpoint and expose the absurdity of the wrong viewpoint.
