With toluene diisocyanate (TDI) and epichlorohydrin as crosslinking agents, oxidized starch was modified by two-step crosslinking method, and the quality of oxidized starch was improved.
Starch adhesive
Water resistance. The experimental results show that the water-resistant time of starch adhesive can be increased from 0.4h to 20h under weak alkaline conditions by crosslinking oxidized starch with 0.8% TDI and then crosslinking with 1.0% epichlorohydrin. Between the two steps of cross-linking modification, the viscosity of the system can be reduced by moderately oxidizing and degrading starch molecules with 1.0% ammonium persulfate (APS).
