Analysis of New Female Images in Mao Dun's Works
An analysis of the images of unknown women in the new era in Eclipse and Rainbow by Mao Dun: The images of "women of the times" created by Mao Dun in Eclipse and Rainbow are a unique group. Their appearance reflects the changes of contemporary society and the mental journey of young intellectuals, and also enriches the character gallery of modern literature in China. This paper attempts to analyze the female images of the new era in Mao Dun's Eclipse and Rainbow, discuss the differences of the individual images and the uniqueness of the image groups, fully show the significance and charm of their own existence, and show their significance to Mao Dun's works, so as to explore the meaning and laws of life, discover the truth of some life phenomena, and give people reference and enlightenment. In Mao Dun's early novels, the image group of "women of the times" exists in the field of literary research with its own uniqueness, which has also attracted the attention of many scholars. Most critics have fully affirmed and highly appraised the personality characteristics, status and historical significance of "women of the times" in the history of modern literature in China, and conducted in-depth research and analysis. Therefore, the research on this image group is fruitful and the research results are remarkable. In view of this, this paper tries to find another way to analyze and study Ms. Hui, Sun Wuyang, Zhang Qiuliu and Mei in Eclipse and Rainbow as typical types of "women of the new era", trying to explore the differences of individual images and the uniqueness of image groups, as well as the significance of writers in shaping "women of the times" and showing their charm.
