At present, HowNet does not contain undergraduate thesis, but only excellent master's thesis, doctoral thesis and periodical submission, which will cause the phenomenon that users can't view undergraduate thesis on HowNet.
HowNet's duplicate checking and comparison database will contain undergraduate thesis data. On the one hand, universities that cooperate with HowNet will upload students' graduation thesis to HowNet.
On the other hand, as long as the graduation thesis is checked by HowNet, it will be automatically included in the comparison database. Therefore, it is suggested that undergraduates use the PMLC duplicate checking system of HowNet, and the test results are basically consistent with those of the school.
HowNet duplicate checking is to calculate the repetition rate of papers according to the criterion that 13 characters will be judged as duplicates. If students copy sentences or paragraphs from other people's papers, the duplicate checking system of HowNet will identify the duplicate parts and calculate them into the total repetition rate of the papers.
What does HowNet duplicate checking include:
Including text, original description, abstract, icon and formula description, references, appendices, experimental research results, conclusions, introduction, patents, documents, notes and various forms.
During the graduation season, most colleges and universities will issue a notice explaining the specifications and duplicate checking instructions of the graduation thesis, and the school will uniformly issue the paper style and other contents, and generally explain the scope of duplicate checking in detail. If the school has specific requirements, it must be submitted according to the requirements of the school.
Take the uploading of undergraduate thesis as an example. After entering the duplicate checking system, users need to fill in all parts as shown in the figure below. Users need to pay attention to the fact that the size of the uploaded paper file cannot exceed 30M and the number of words in the paper cannot exceed 60,000 words, otherwise it cannot be uploaded correctly. After all input is completed, the user can click the submit test button.
