I don't know if you are using version 07 or 10 Office. In version 10, footnotes are first displayed at the end of each section and applied to the whole article. Then you will find that the literature is scattered from the end of the whole document to the end of each section. Next, place the cursor at any position where you don't want the references to appear in this section, and then select Cancel endnotes in Page Layout-Page Setup-Layout to apply to the whole document, so that all references will not be displayed. Finally, in the "section" where references need to appear, the "cancel endnotes" option is removed and applied to this section. In this way, you can continue to add things to the references, and you can also set the level of the following titles to let them enter the catalogue. But carriage return can't seem to be deleted.
