According to the characteristics and needs of local economic development, multi-level, multi-specification and multi-form schools are adopted. Since its establishment 28 years ago, our school has set up more than 40 majors (including 10 undergraduate majors) in 8 disciplines, such as science and engineering, grammar, finance, finance and primary education, and has trained more than16,000 senior undergraduate and specialist applied talents for the local area, accounting for more than one-third of the graduates assigned to Suzhou in the same period, making positive contributions to improving the comprehensive quality of Suzhou population.
While doing a good job in academic education, since 1986, Suzhou Radio and TV University has given full play to its own advantages and gradually expanded the scale of non-academic education and continuing education in the form of running schools by itself or jointly with other systems and units. Various kinds of technical skills training have been developed and implemented, including computer application ability training and rating training, insurance business qualification examination, computer training for key teachers in primary and secondary schools, etc. By February 2007, it had assessed and trained two trainees.
Suzhou Radio and TV University has five workstations in Yongqiao District (formerly Suxian County), Lingbi, Sixian County, Dangshan County and Xiaoxian County, among which Sixian Workstation is the first unit in Anhui Province to participate in the "Pilot Project of Talent Training Mode Reform and Open Education of China Central Radio and TV University" 1999, and Lingbi, Dangshan, Xiaoxian County and Yongqiao in the following year.
