With the development of social economy and the improvement of science and technology, China's highway construction has developed rapidly. This paper introduces in detail the principles, methods and problems that should be paid attention to in road construction, such as the establishment of the first-level control network of GPS road survey, the construction lofting method and operation flow. This paper mainly talks about lofting. Highway engineering construction lofting is mainly to calibrate the plane position and elevation of engineering structures on the design drawings on the spot by using measurement technology as the basis of construction. In the process of construction, the geometric dimensions of the engineering structure are detected to realize the transformation of quality and quantity from design drawings to engineering objects. The basis of highway engineering construction lofting is Technical Standard for Highway Engineering, construction technical specifications, procedures, measurement specifications of various structures and engineering design drawings. The survey and lofting work should follow the principle from whole to part, and control survey should be carried out first, and then detailed lofting survey should be carried out. Through control survey, the geometric relationship between plane position and elevation between plane control points and elevation control points and engineering structure characteristic points is established. According to the coordinates of plane control points and the elevation of elevation control points, the spatial position of characteristic points of field engineering structures can be determined by measuring the distance, elevation and angle with traditional measuring instruments or by measuring the three-dimensional coordinates with total station and GPS. In the process of lofting, engineering design drawings are the basis to explain the geometric relationship between control points and characteristic points of engineering structures; The current construction technical specifications, procedures and measurement specifications are the basis for checking the accuracy of lofting results. Only by using geometric data with standard precision can the exact position of engineering structure feature points be accurately determined to guide construction.
