What's the difference between CAD and CAM?
The difference between CAM and CAD mainly lies in three aspects: function, application scope and design effect;

1, different functions

CAM is a computer-aided design software, mainly for two-dimensional drawing. By installing plug-ins, you can also realize the CAM (manufacturing) function.

2, the scope of application is different

The CAD industry is basically used to mark engineering drawings and the like. CAM includes the functions of CAD, and also has the functions of three-dimensional modeling, welding, sheet metal, stamping (plug-in), rendering, motion simulation animation, finite element analysis, engineering drawing, numerical control programming (plug-in) and so on, which is much more than AutoCAD.

3. Different design effects

In CAD design, top-down design is very convenient. Under the overall framework, the operation of sub-assembly and parts is simple, and the graphics can be modified at will, but it is easy to make mistakes. The cam design is intuitive and the scheme is easy to understand; 2D drawings are directly generated by 3D, and there will be no drawing errors, so assembly analysis can be carried out.
