Wu Yicheng's research work
Academician Wu Yicheng has been engaged in the research of inorganic nonlinear optical crystal materials for a long time, and has made many achievements in the exploration of new nonlinear optical materials, the study of crystal growth and nonlinear optical properties, and the relationship between crystal structure and nonlinear optical properties. Together with our collaborators, we invented many kinds of nonlinear optical crystals, such as LiB3O5 (LBO), CsB3O5 (CBO), La2CaB 10O 19 (LCB). LBO crystal has been widely used in the field of laser technology, and "a new nonlinear optical crystal lithium triborate-LiB3O5" won the first prize of national invention. Published more than 100 papers and obtained more than 10 invention patents. He was awarded the title of "Doctor with Outstanding Contribution in China" by the State Education Commission and the State Council Academic Degrees Committee. During my work in the University of Science and Technology of China, I was named "Young and Middle-aged Scientist with Outstanding Contributions in Anhui Province".

He has been engaged in the research and development of nonlinear optical materials for a long time, and has made many achievements in the exploration of new nonlinear optical materials, the study of crystal growth and nonlinear optical properties, and the relationship between crystal structure and nonlinear optical properties. LBO crystal has been widely used in the field of laser technology, and it is the most suitable second and third frequency doubling crystal for high average power all-solid-state lasers. It was once rated as one of the top ten laser high-tech products in the world by Laser and Optoelectronic magazine 1989. "A new nonlinear optical crystal lithium triborate-LiB3O5" won the first prize of national invention.

In 2005, he was elected as an academician of China Academy of Engineering.
