What are the taboos for drinking Chinese medicine?
Nowadays, people use Chinese medicine more and more after they get sick, and everyone has more and more trust in Chinese medicine. But we all know that there are many taboos in drinking Chinese medicine, so we should pay attention to these taboos when drinking Chinese medicine. So, what do you need to avoid when drinking Chinese medicine?

1, the taboo of drinking traditional Chinese medicine

Taboo is a characteristic of TCM treatment. As the saying goes, "if you don't avoid taking medicine, it will ruin the doctor's hand." Whether taking traditional Chinese medicine is taboo is a concern of some patients. Let's look at the general taboo.

(1) Avoid strong tea.

Generally, don't drink strong tea when taking traditional Chinese medicine, because tea contains tannic acid, and strong tea contains more tannic acid. Taking it with traditional Chinese medicine will affect the absorption of effective components in traditional Chinese medicine and reduce the curative effect. Especially when taking "Ejiao" and "Tremella", avoid taking it with tea, and taking it at the same time will precipitate tannic acid and alkaloids in tea, which will affect human absorption. If you have the habit of drinking tea, you can drink less green tea, preferably after taking the medicine for 2 ~ 3 hours.

(2) Avoid eating radishes

When taking traditional Chinese medicine, it is not advisable to eat raw radish (except taking drugs for regulating qi and resolving phlegm), because radish has the effect of promoting digestion and breaking qi, especially when taking nourishing traditional Chinese medicines such as ginseng and astragalus, eating radish will weaken the nourishing effect of ginseng and others, reduce the curative effect and fail to achieve the therapeutic purpose.

(3) Avoid catching cold

Cold food is cold and difficult to digest. Cold food is also easy to stimulate the gastrointestinal tract and affect the absorption of drugs in the gastrointestinal tract. Therefore, in the treatment of "cold syndrome", taking traditional Chinese medicines such as warming meridians and dredging collaterals, dispelling cold and eliminating dampness, or strengthening the spleen and warming the stomach, we must avoid eating cold food.

(4) avoid spicy

Mala Tang is warm and consumes pneumatic fire. If you take traditional Chinese medicines such as clearing away heat and toxic materials, nourishing yin and promoting fluid production, cooling blood and nourishing yin, or during the treatment of carbuncle, ulcer and toxic heat, you must avoid spicy food. Such as onions, garlic, peppers, mutton, dog meat and other spicy products, if eaten, will offset the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine, and some will also contribute to inflammation, yin injury and blood circulation (bleeding).

(5) avoid greasy

Greasy food is sticky, which helps to dry dampness and produce phlegm, moisten intestines and regulate qi, and is not easy to digest and absorb. Moreover, the mixture of greasy food and drugs will hinder the absorption of effective ingredients in gastrointestinal tract, thus reducing the curative effect. Eating meat and greasy food will inevitably affect the absorption of Chinese medicine during taking Chinese medicine. Therefore, patients with severe phlegm dampness, spleen and stomach weakness, dyspepsia, hypertension, coronary heart disease, hyperlipidemia, high blood viscosity and obesity should avoid eating greasy things such as animal fat.

(6) Avoid fishy smell

Traditional Chinese medicine generally has an aromatic smell, especially aromatic drugs for eliminating dampness and regulating qi, which contain a lot of volatile oil and play a therapeutic role. This aromatic substance is the most incompatible with the fishy smell. If you don't avoid the fishy smell when eating traditional Chinese medicine, it will often affect the curative effect. For example, fish, shrimp and seafood smell fishy, and cattle and sheep smell bad. For allergic dermatitis patients such as allergic asthma, allergic rhinitis, boils, eczema, urticaria, etc., we must avoid eating fishy things and eat less fishy and irritating hair such as chicken, sheep, pig's head, crab and goose during taking traditional Chinese medicine. Because this kind of food contains foreign protein, some patients are particularly sensitive and allergic, thus aggravating their illness.

In short, taking medicine has certain scientific reasons and is also a summary of long-term clinical experience. In order to achieve good curative effect, all foods that are cold, greasy, fishy, difficult to digest or have special irritation should be avoided during taking Chinese medicine. In addition, when taking traditional Chinese medicine, it is best not to drink drinks, because additives, preservatives and other ingredients in drinks will also affect the absorption of effective components of traditional Chinese medicine and reduce the efficacy. Of course, taboos can't be absolute. They vary from person to person and from illness to illness. For general patients, especially chronic patients, if you avoid eating for a long time, there are many kinds of fasting, which can not maintain the normal intake of nutrients needed by the human body, but reduce the body's resistance, which is not good for restoring health. Therefore, under the guidance of a doctor, you can eat some foods that increase nutrition appropriately to avoid nutritional deficiency.

2. Pay attention to the use of traditional Chinese medicine.

Some patients think that they have become doctors after a long illness, and they know all about their own diseases, so they take medicine according to the prescription and use Chinese medicine according to the law. Some patients are obsessed with some traditional Chinese medicine remedies, leading to poisoning, while some units and sales companies selling traditional Chinese medicine ignore the side effects of traditional Chinese medicine and sell them to consumers in order to win huge profits, resulting in adverse reactions.

(1) Some traditional Chinese medicines contain toxic components, such as aconitine in aconite, which has therapeutic effect in small doses, and poisoning can be caused by excessive dosage or improper use.

(2) Some traditional Chinese medicines do not contain toxic components, but excessive use can also cause poisoning. For example, excessive use of cinnamon can cause hematuria.

(3) Improper medication based on syndrome differentiation, such as taking Herba Asari and Cortex Cinnamomi to patients with hyperactivity of liver yang, is tantamount to adding fuel to the fire.

(4) Improper varieties of traditional Chinese medicines. For example, mistletoe is non-toxic, but mistletoe parasitic on toxic plants will contain corresponding toxic components.

(5) Some medicinal materials are unprocessed or improperly processed. For example, processed Pinellia ternata is not toxic, while raw Pinellia ternata is toxic.

(6) The decoction of traditional Chinese medicine is incorrect. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the decoction time is not enough, causing toxic reactions.

(7) It is very dangerous to take Chinese medicine by mistake. If cortex acanthopanacis radicis is used as cortex acanthopanacis radicis, digitalis-like poisoning will occur.

(eight) contaminated or deteriorated Chinese medicine.

(9) improper medication, such as intramuscular injection of traditional Chinese medicine is used for intravenous injection.

(10) If the drug is used for too long, digitalis-like accumulation poisoning will occur if it contains cardiac glycosides in oleander.

(1 1) Some traditional Chinese medicines can react with each other, which will cause adverse reactions if they are not compatible properly. For example, veratrum should not be used with tonic drugs such as ginseng.

(12) There are also compatibility taboos between Chinese and western medicines, such as hawthorn, Schisandra chinensis, ebony, etc. Combined with sulfanilamide, it can cause hematuria.

(13) Differences in sex, age and constitution will affect the curative effect of traditional Chinese medicine. For example, women are sensitive to many drugs during lactation.

(14) The quality of traditional Chinese medicine injection is poor, and it contains harmful substances, impurities and plant proteins.

(15) Improper use of external auxiliary materials such as liquor, alcohol and vinegar.

3, TCM syndrome differentiation treatment

(1) Syndrome differentiation and treatment is the essence of the theoretical system of traditional Chinese medicine. Syndrome differentiation is the premise of correct use of Chinese patent medicine and the main basis for drug selection.

(2) For example, Chinese medicine divides colds into:

Wind-cold common cold-syndrome differentiation symptoms: severe aversion to cold, mild fever, sore limbs, heavy nasal congestion, or itchy nose and sneezing, runny nose, itchy throat, cough, thin and white sputum.

Wind-heat cold-syndrome differentiation symptoms: severe fever, slight aversion to cold or slight aversion to wind, cough with little or no phlegm, sore throat, swelling and thirst.

Summer cold-differential symptoms: dizziness, boredom, thirst, vomiting or diarrhea caused by summer heat, accompanied by fever, aversion to cold, headache or general pain, and lack of food.

For cold, Jiuwei Qianghuo Pill, Ganmao Qingre Granule, Zhengchaihuyin Granule and Fang Jing Granule should be used to relieve exterior syndrome. Wind-heat cold should be treated with Yinqiao Jiedu Tablet, LingGan Yang Ganmao Tablet, Sangju Ganmao Tablet, Ganmaotuire Granule, etc. If the two are reversed, it is not only useless, but also harmful to treat cold, wind and heat colds with pungent, cool and warm antidiarrheal drugs. For summer heat and cold, antidiarrheal drugs should be selected, such as Huoxiang Zhengqi Pill, Baoji Pill, Liuhe Zhong Ding Pill and Shidishui Pill. Therefore, according to the results of syndrome differentiation, the treatment principles are determined, such as sweating in exterior syndrome, clearing away heat syndrome, warming up cold syndrome, tonifying deficiency syndrome and purging excess syndrome. In order to select Chinese patent medicines in a targeted manner.

4. Western medicine is different in syndrome differentiation.

(1) When using Chinese patent medicine in clinic, we can choose the corresponding Chinese patent medicine by combining western medicine and Chinese medicine. We can't just choose Chinese patent medicine according to the diagnosis of western medicine, but we must choose drugs according to the classification of diseases, differences among people, climate change, drug efficacy and other factors. Therefore, there will also be different treatments for the same disease or the same treatment for different diseases. For example, vomiting caused by the same cold in summer can be selected as Huoxiang Zhengqi Powder; If you stop because of food stagnation, you can choose Baohe Pill.

(2) As the saying goes: "If you don't take medicine, you will break your hand." Taboo refers to the dietary taboo when taking medicine to treat diseases. Taboo is a characteristic of Chinese medicine treatment, which has always been valued by doctors, and its related contents are also widely found in medical books such as Neijing, Treatise on Febrile Diseases and synopsis of Golden Chamber.

(3) Practice has proved that taboos are reasonable. Because the common foods we usually eat, such as fish, meat, chicken, eggs, vegetables, fruits, sauces, vinegar, tea, wine, etc., also have their own properties, which have a certain impact on the occurrence, development and therapeutic effect of drugs. For example, Zhang Xingyun's book "Diet Therapy and Disease Differentiation" in the Qing Dynasty said: "Patients eat to nourish stomach qi and promote drug efficacy, so those who eat properly are the help of drug bait, and those who eat improperly are the enemies of drug bait." ? When taking traditional Chinese medicine for clearing fire, it is not advisable to eat hot foods such as onions, garlic, peppers, mutton and dog meat; When taking traditional Chinese medicine to treat "cold syndrome", you should avoid eating cold food. There are also a lot of records in ancient literature: licorice, coptis, platycodon grandiflorum and ebony avoid pork; Mint avoids turtle meat; Poria cocos is jealous of vinegar; Turtles avoid amaranth; Chicken avoids eel; Honey avoids raw onions; Asparagus avoids carp; Schizonepeta avoids fish, crabs, puffer fish and donkey meat; Atractylodes macrocephala avoids garlic, peaches and plums. This shows that you should not eat certain foods when taking certain drugs. If you eat taboo food, the curative effect is not ideal or counterproductive.

(4) In addition, due to illness, all cold, greasy, fishy, indigestible or particularly irritating foods should be avoided during medication. ? Children should not eat cold, sour and greasy food when they have a cold or rash; When treating chest tightness and abdominal distension caused by qi stagnation, beans and sweet potatoes should not be eaten because these foods are easy to cause flatulence. Others such as edema patients eat less salt; Patients with asthma and allergic dermatitis should eat less chicken, sheep, pig head, fish, shrimp and crab.
