Xianning Vocational and Technical College is a comprehensive college approved by the Ministry of Education with independent enrollment qualification of ordinary colleges and universities. The college is public, formerly known as Xianning Branch of Huazhong Agricultural College. Founded in 1976, 1984 was renamed as Xianning Institute of Education. In 2003, Xianning Vocational and Technical College was established with the approval of Hubei Provincial People's Government.
