American Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is the authoritative academic organization of the world petroleum industry. There are more than 50,000 members, including more than 200 from China. A CD-ROM with 25,000 documents has been established. The library of Petroleum University (East China) has collected a full set of microfilms and nearly 20,000 papers, and compiled and published the index of papers, which has been well received by the majority of scientific and technological personnel.
