biography
In the 19th year of Jiajing (1540), Gui Youguang served as a juror, and tried to return to the south the following year, so he moved to Anting River in Jiading, where he studied and preached for more than 20 years. There were often hundreds of students, and he was called Mr. China Zhenchuan. After that, I went to Chunwei seven times, which was not the first time. He cares about the water conservancy in his hometown, visited the Sanjiang historic site and wrote a book on water conservancy in Sanwu.
Later, when Governor Harry was in charge of dredging Wusong River, he adopted many suggestions from Gui Youguang. In the thirty-third year of Jiajing (1554), when the Japanese made an insurrection, Gui Youguang went to the city to prepare for defense and wrote the Proposal for Defending the Japanese. In the forty-fourth year of Jiajing (1565), Gui Youguang, who was nearly sixty years old, was awarded the position of the top scholar in China and the title of Changxing magistrate. During his tenure, he attached importance to education and clean government, and was transferred to Shunde as a judge for offending his boss.
In the fourth year of Jian 'an, Qin Long was recommended by Gao Gong and Zhao Zhenji, and was appointed as the official of Nanjing Taibu Temple. Later, he took charge of the cabinet system and participated in the compilation of Sejong's memoirs. Said it was a servant. Qin Long five years, Gui Youguang died of illness, at the age of 66.
Personality achievement
Gui Youguang admired the ancient prose of Tang and Song Dynasties. As an old Confucian, he opposed Wang Shizhen, the literary leader at that time, and denounced him as a "fool". His works were inherited from eight masters in Tang and Song Dynasties, and were compared with Wang, Mao Kun in Qing Dynasty, while his neighbors called them Tang and Song School.
His prose is concise, good at narration and can move people with emotion. Known as "Ouyang Xiu today", later generations praised his prose as "the first plain language" and called it "the three outstanding figures of Jiajing" with Wang. You can also write poems. He is the author of Collected Works of Mr. Zhenchuan, Yi Graph Theory and Notes on Shangshu.
Gui Youguang also wrote four volumes of Water Conservancy Records of Sanwu, The Book of Changes, Letters from Various Scholars, and Introduction to Articles. There are two volumes of Collected Works of Gui Taifu in the Collection of Ming Huang Jing Shi Wen. 20 15, The Complete Works of Gui Youguang published by Shanghai People's Publishing House.
