As a child, Qiu Chen liked boxing sticks and extensive reading, and was forced to start learning stereotyped writing at the age of fifteen. He was ambitious and reformed the unreasonable social system very early to relieve the suffering of the broad masses of people. At that time, the only way was to realize his political thought through the imperial examination and becoming an official. However, I failed many times in the Hangzhou exam, so I chose another medical method-that is, I can settle down and live in Dao Ji. I have been interested in medicine since I was 20 years old, and I have been visiting famous doctors since I was 26 years old, doing medical records and treating diseases.
Qiu Chen's political thought is very special. At that time, there were many retired bureaucrats and gentry in Ryan, who formed a powerful local power by virtue of their political and academic prestige. Xu Qichou, Jin Mingchang, Chen and others organized a "Qiu Zhishe" to compete with the Buyi Party. 1872, Qiu Chen and Xu Qichou, deeply moved by Ryan's secluded life of "the end of Zhejiang" and "no books to read", initiated a joint venture to collect books and founded the Lan Xin Bookstore, which was the first of its kind in China. Qiu Chen tried to ease social contradictions through the blood relationship of clans. During his illness, he dictated three opinions about the peace-making, namely, patriarchal opinions, closed discussions and unified opinions, which were recorded by his brothers. After that, I extensively read the translations of new books in western Europe, and my understanding changed. In the 16th year of Guangxu (1890), he went to Beijing to take the exam. On his way home, he made eight suggestions to Shandong Governor Zhang Yao. The first is to "create a parliament to communicate with the people", which is the earliest measure for China to adopt the western bourgeois parliamentary system in recent years. 189 1 year, he wrote "General Discussion on Peace" (including peace etiquette, World Expo discussion and salvation discussion), which was published in 1893. In Post-Expo, he said, "If you want to strive for self-improvement, you must first reform". The content of political reform involves politics, culture and economy. Politically, starting with the reform of the official system, it is advocated that "each county has its own government and major issues are discussed together"; Culturally, from the beginning of the imperial examination reform, we advocated that "what we have learned today is useless, so we should give up everything" and set up "art discipline", "western discipline", "China discipline" and "ancient discipline". Economically, it advocates using wealth, promoting manufacturing, rewarding industry and commerce, relocating, opening new ports and taking care of Chinese businessmen. Militarily, it advocates changing camp affairs, making policies, building warships, changing castles and organizing fishing groups. There are also "protecting the people", "harnessing the river", "nurturing the sea" and "nurturing the border", which are relatively complete reform plans. He has the twelfth policy of enriching the people in the theory of saving the country to develop the economy. He also suggested setting up an export native products company, in which "those who are willing to buy shares should first check the goods on time and hand them over to the inventory" and "return a certain amount of won according to the number" after export sales. In order to monopolize the market, "if smugglers come again, the company will devalue first and embarrass it, and no one will not buy shares." This idea is already the way capitalism works. As soon as the book came out, it received full attention from all walks of life, and Zhang Zhidong, governor of Huguang, also appreciated it very much. Liang Qichao listed it in the bibliography of western learning, and Song Shu wrote an article to comment on it. After liberation, it was still selected into China Modern History Data Series-The Reform Movement of 1898. From 65438 to 0895, Qiu Chen and Chen Fu went to Beijing together, trying to participate in the activity of "writing on the bus". He was one of the key figures in this activity. Kang Youwei speaks highly of him. 1898, participated in the "National Congress Insurance" in Beijing, and established the "Zhejiang Insurance Association" with Cai Yuanpei and others in Beijing. After the failure of the Reform Movement of 1898, he was wanted by the Qing court. This series of patriotic actions shows that he once stood at the forefront of the Reform Movement of 1898 and made valuable contributions to the sacred cause of saving the country and strengthening the country.
Qiu Chen's medical practice is also unusual. He is familiar with classics, cautious in ancient teachings and ingenious. The book "Zhelu Diagnostic Record" provides an example of syndrome differentiation and treatment and solving difficult diseases in the early years. He is the author of eight volumes of Li Ji Medical Lectures, two volumes of jing yuan Baoyao, one volume of Q&A on Epidemic Cholera, six volumes of Li Ji Materia Medica, six volumes of Li Ji Medical System, four volumes of Yi Ya and four volumes of Yi Yi, among which Q&A on Epidemic Cholera has been included in China Medical Achievements. 1884, the scheme of establishing Chinese medicine hospitals and Chinese medicine schools was put forward at the hospital meeting, which was immediately realized the following year. As a result, Ryan Yang Yali appeared the first new traditional chinese medicine school (Li Ji Medical College), the affiliated hospital, and he taught in person. The Li Ji Classics edited by him is the earliest new medical textbook in modern China. 1895, Li Ji branch is located in Gao Qiao, Wenzhou, and Li Ji branch is located in Zhouzhaisi Lane. The following year, Li Ji School was established in Fu Qian Street. From 65438 to 0897, Li Ji Tang Xue Bao was distributed to the whole country, and some medical lectures and papers were published. More than 300 Chinese medicine practitioners have been trained successively, which has played a certain role in meeting the medical requirements of the masses, promoting the integration of Chinese and Western medicine and improving the theoretical level of Chinese medicine.
After the Reform Movement of 1898, Qiu Chen suffered a double blow economically and politically: the original losses of Tang Xue Daily and yiguang increased the debt of the hospital, and the school was forced to close, but he was not discouraged. He also found friends to "criticize Han and Song Dynasties, propose Europe and Asia, draw swords and dance, and sing loudly about wine". 190 1 year, he issued "Li Ji Hospital Stock", and the county hospital was run by himself, which has been rebuilt on a large scale. The following year, cholera was prevalent in Wenzhou, and he made house calls day and night to promote Pulsatilla prescription, which was praised by the people. 1903, a new European literature museum was opened in the county hospital. The new words ou and ou Yan lue were compiled as teaching materials and published by his teacher Zheng. He marked the language of Wenzhou dialect with original letters, which made an attempt for the reform of local characters. Soon after, he died on New Year's Day in 1904 at the age of 53.
After liberation, Qiu Chen's political thought has been paid unprecedented attention, and he has been mentioned in almost every book in the history of modern thought, and the publishing plan of the State Council's ancient books has also been included in his legacy. Due to the scattered manuscripts, Qiu Chen Ji was not published by Zhejiang People's Publishing House until 1992. At present, yiguang, Li Ji is still applying for the national cultural protection unit.
