Main work
Yang Zijing is very modest and enjoys cooperation with other writers. His composition has always been rigorous, trying to keep the words fresh, not following the rules and not hurting the meaning of the words. He often pays attention to both refined and popular tastes when making sentences, and tries his best to suit the character. The Cantonese operas he produced and cooperated with include costume dramas "Searching for the Academy", "Two Yous in the Red Chamber", "Hairpin Phoenix", "Guan Hanqing", "Cai Wenji" and "Burning". He wrote The Last Day of the Mountain Man, and participated in the creation of the new historical drama Ice Cream in the North and the drama The True Love of Yue Nv. In the evening, another representative work of Yang Zijing, Cantonese Opera "The Storm of Mountain Country", was staged at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. Before the performance, the actors of Guangdong Cantonese Opera Troupe held a short silence ceremony backstage. On June 5438+0 1 day, the famous Cantonese opera "Guan Hanqing" rehearsed by Guangzhou Hongdu Cantonese Opera Troupe was staged in Hong Kong Gaoshan Theater. I'm afraid few people know that the screenwriter of this play is Gong Jing.
Before the performance, all the cast members stood in silence for Lao Yang and paid high tribute to him.
The life of the character
Yang Zijing was born in a scholarly family, and his father was a Chinese medicine doctor. When I was a child, because I was poor, I went to middle school and had to drop out of school to make a living in society.
Yang Zijing loved art and music as well as classical literature since childhood, and was willing to write poems. An uncle taught him to play the flute and be familiar with music, which laid a solid foundation for Yang Zijing to become a screenwriter in the future.
Yang Zijing used to be a primary school teacher and principal. During his stay in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, he failed to teach. He worked as a clerk in the Kuomintang army, and then tried to write plays in the army war zone. 1943 went north with the army and met the famous Cantonese opera actress Ma Shiceng in Zhaoqing. Yang Zijing's literary talent was appreciated by Ma Shiceng. 1945, he officially joined the Ma Shiceng Theatre Company.
Give My Country Back to Me is the first script co-written by Yang Zijing and Ma Shiceng. This drama expresses the joy of Emperor Guangwu in recovering the Han Dynasty, defeating the Japanese aggressors and recovering the lost land. At the end of 1945, the play was performed by Ma Shiceng and Sinuhong, which was a sensation.
Since then, Yang Zijing has worked in a theater company in Ma Shiceng for five years, and also worked as a governess in Xin Nvhong, teaching her ancient poems. According to the custom of the troupe, Sinuhong called him "Uncle Amethyst".
From 65438 to 0955, Ma Shiceng and Xian Nvhong returned from Hong Kong to settle in Guangzhou and joined the Guangdong Cantonese Opera Troupe. Ma Shiceng and Yang Zijing cooperated again, and created classic characters such as Xie Bao and Guan Hanqing in Searching for the Gods.
Yang Zijing's plays are always meticulously produced, and the lyrics are repeatedly scrutinized. Gong Jing pays attention to the literariness of script language, literary talent and rhythm, and often uses poems and allusions to describe characters. Cantonese opera director Chen Youming praised Yang Zijing's plays: sometimes semantic puns are very interesting; Sometimes it is as mysterious and thought-provoking as philosophy.
Working for the Kuomintang, Yang Zijing suffered a lot in the historical movement after the founding of the People's Republic of China. This also formed his cautious, indifferent and low-key temperament.
At the age of 75, Yang Zijing was unfortunately knocked down by a reckless man riding a bicycle, resulting in a broken ischium. However, he believed in Chinese medicine and refused to undergo surgery, so he stayed at home for illness in his later years and rarely appeared in public.
Yang Zijing has been worried about the decline of Cantonese opera. However, Guangdong Cantonese Opera has been short of screenwriters for a long time and does not pay attention to cultivating new screenwriters, which makes him lament that it is "rare and worthless".
Only a few dozen people attended Yang Zijing's memorial service. "Such an accomplished screenwriter is dead, but the memorial service is so deserted!" Mo Rucheng, an old partner and famous Cantonese opera screenwriter, said bitterly: "It can be seen that the screenwriter has no position."
"Teacher Yang Zijing plays an important role among writers. His death is a great loss to the Cantonese opera world. Xiao Mei, head of Guangdong Cantonese Opera Troupe, said sadly.
