Guided by the new English curriculum standards, this paper puts forward the idea of how to carry out the new curriculum concept in practice and carry out English teaching in senior high schools, and how to improve the efficiency of English teaching through several methodological changes.

The new curriculum standard emphasizes the cognitive characteristics and learning development needs of senior high school students, and requires further development of students' basic language application ability, focusing on improving students' ability to obtain information, process information and analyze and solve problems in English, gradually cultivating students' ability to think and express in English, and creating necessary conditions for further learning and development. It requires us to reform all aspects of teaching on the basis of summing up experience to meet the needs of talent training in the 2 1 century. Through practical teaching, I summed up the following experiences.

First, meet the different needs of students and lay the foundation for their all-round development and lifelong development.

Students all have personality differences. Because of the different growth environment and personal interests, they still have certain differences in their study and life. Therefore, we should give full play to students' main role, pay attention to their all-round development, pay attention to stimulating students' interest in learning, help students establish self-confidence and lay the foundation for their lifelong learning. Therefore, I teach students in accordance with their aptitude and put forward different requirements for their study according to the differences of each type of students. For example, for underachievers with poor grades, I selected some simple basic questions to ask them so that they can answer fluently. If they answer correctly, I will keep saying? Very good? Or? Well done? . If their answers are wrong, I will face them with encouragement, and I will say to them: Thank you anyway, you can try next time. ? After listening, they will eliminate their anxiety, build up their confidence in learning, and have more courage to participate in teaching. As long as they are willing to participate, their English scores will improve. For top students, on the premise of keeping their grades stable, we should raise the requirements for them, increase reading and increase the intake of knowledge and information.

Second, create a harmonious and relaxed learning atmosphere.

At present, the master-slave teacher-student relationship in education hinders the emotional communication between teachers and students, leads to the disharmony between teachers and students, directly reduces the teaching effect, leads to the passivity of students' learning, and the result is not conducive to the cultivation of students' innovative consciousness, spirit and ability. Therefore, in the teaching process, I pay attention to the communication with students, so that students can maintain a strong interest in English and strive to create a relaxed and harmonious learning atmosphere for English learning in senior high schools. For example, what is the first compulsory unit of English in senior one? Friendship? This is the first lesson for students to enter senior high school English, and it is also a subject close to students' life, so I divide the students into groups and propose several topics that they are interested in for discussion, such as? Describe one of your best friends? ,? List the qualities that a good friend should have? ,? List the qualities that a good friend should not possess? Wait a minute. In the process of discussion, students are encouraged to express their views and ideas in English, which exercises their English expression ability and courage and enables them to gradually develop their ability to communicate in English.

Third, cultivate students' ability of inquiry learning.

Make a counseling plan before class and distribute it to each student, so that students can distinguish their knowledge from the difficult problems that need to be explored with a two-color pen in preview, and students can also discuss it, so that teachers can have a clear aim in the teaching process. For example, when explaining direct speech and indirect speech, ask students to find out the declarative sentences, general questions, special questions and imperative sentences corresponding to the example sentences. Similarities and differences in guiding words, tense, word order, person, adverbial of time and place, etc. And sum up the transformation law between them, which not only exercises the students' ability of autonomous learning, but also enhances their sense of accomplishment, and their memories will be profound and firm. Teaching and learning are contradictory. As teachers and students on both sides of the contradiction, how to live in harmony is very important for completing teaching and improving grades. I often reflect on the shortcomings in the teaching process with students and correct them. Let students put forward their opinions anonymously at a fixed time every week, and try to seek opportunities for dialogue with students, whether in class or after class, so that students can feel that the English classroom environment is relaxed and teachers and students are equal, then the communication will become very pleasant. After class, they are often asked about the effect of their lectures and their learning situation, so as to create a democratic, equal, relaxed and free teaching atmosphere, mobilize students' learning enthusiasm to the maximum extent and stimulate their learning enthusiasm.

After this stage of teaching practice, I gradually realized that as a first-line English teacher, besides having solid professional knowledge, I should also be full of love, patience and care for my students. In practice, we should constantly learn and summarize, improve our own quality, constantly reflect on our own shortcomings in teaching, deeply understand the spirit of curriculum reform, closely combine teaching with the objectives of curriculum reform, constantly update our concepts and change our teaching methods, so that every student can appreciate the benefits of the new curriculum reform.
