Why can't the Yuan Empire meet the traditional civilization of China, thus giving birth to new seeds of civilization that can be mutated?
Historically, the northern nationalities entered the Central Plains in the late Western Jin Dynasty, which led to the integration of the northern nationalities, and the language and culture of the Han nationality eventually assimilated the ethnic minorities. Mongolian rulers maintained their national characteristics by relying on military strength, political privilege and partial support from Tibetan, Uygur and Central Asian cultures, but their ruling time was relatively short. Compared with the traditional Han autocratic system, the hierarchical factors in Yuan Dynasty politics are still lagging behind. But one thing is certain: the politics of agricultural nationalities and the politics of nomadic nationalities after entering agricultural civilization are both traditional politics. Under this system, all scientific and technological achievements, no matter how delicious, may mutate the social structure, and can only come and go with the seasons like flowers and plants on the grassland, but not extend the annual rings like trees. Therefore, the fresh western knowledge and technology introduced into China during the Yuan Dynasty only temporarily enriched China's cultural and social life.

Another noteworthy fact is that there were no influential thinkers in China for nearly a century and a half after the atheist Deng Mu (1247 ~ 1306) in the Song and Yuan Dynasties. This may be because the political rule of the Yuan Dynasty stifled the academic atmosphere of Han scholars and filled the ideological sky with a lasting haze.
