There are two places in A Dream of Red Mansions where tea is fried with rain.
On the 4th1,Jia Mu and her party went to Miaoyu Training Hall, and Jia Mu took the tea and asked what kind of water it was. Miaoyu looked back and smiled: "It was the rain of the old year." Grandmother Jia ate half a cup and handed it to Granny Liu with a smile. "Try this tea." Granny Liu ate it all in one gulp and said with a smile, "Yes, it's just light. It's better to cook it thicker." Jia, everyone laughed.
Back to 1 1 1, Miaoyu took Daopo to Xichun to chat, and Xichun invited Miaoyu to play chess with her all night. Miaoyu refused at first, but seeing that Xichun was pitiful, she mentioned playing chess again and agreed at the moment. The book wrote: "I sent a Taoist priest back to get his tea set, clothes and mattress, and asked the waiter to bring it." We sat and talked all night. Xichun was overjoyed. Last year, she ordered the color screen to rain and prepare tea. Miaoyu has her own tea set. Daopo walked for a while, and then another waiter came, bringing Miaoyu's daily necessities. Xichun personally makes tea. " Miaoyu, as a yogi, uses the rain of the old year to make tea, and pays more attention to tea and tea sets than ordinary people, which makes people envy. No wonder she is called "tea fairy in the sky".
Snow water making tea
4 1 episode "Plum Blossom Snow Tea in Cui Rui Temple" contains a wonderful remark of Miaoyu at the tea ceremony: Miaoyu held a pot and only poured about one cup into the sea. Baoyu ate it carefully, and the fruit felt very frivolous (the tea tasted extraordinary), and he was full of praise. ..... Daiyu asked, "Is this also the rain of the old year?" Miaoyu sneered: "You are a layman, you can't even taste water. Five years ago, I lived in a temple and announced the tomb. I collected plum blossom snow. * * * got a jar of flowers, with a blue face, which I have been reluctant to eat. It was buried in the ground and only opened this summer. I've only eaten once, and this is the second time. Why can't you taste it? How can the rain next year be so frivolous and how to eat it? " This passage vividly shows the sublimity of Miaoyu, and also makes readers have a more emotional understanding of snow water for frying tea.
Frying tea cakes with rain and snow water is not Cao Xueqin's original creation, but an ancient legacy. Scientific research shows that only rain and snow are pure soft water in nature. Tea brewed with soft water has clear soup color, elegant aroma and fresh taste, which is naturally better than other teas brewed with soft water. Cao Xueqin does not write articles about springs, wells and rivers that people are already familiar with. He only chose the rain, snow and water called "Tian Quan" by the ancients, and told it with the wonderful jade in "The Kingdom of tea fairy", which is unique, and this is what he is good at everywhere.
