Why are the Dutch so tall?
The gap between the rich and the poor is small;
Good social welfare system19th century, Holland changed its political system. In order to narrow the gap between the rich and the poor, the wealth in the hands of the elite is evenly distributed to everyone, so that the income level of the whole people is not much different.
People have more money, abundant natural food and greatly improved nutrition to help children grow up healthily. The Dutchman has changed from the shortest in Europe to the tallest in the world.
An important reason is good medical benefits. The government department will provide every parent with a free child-rearing system and check their children regularly until they are 4 years old.
Superior geographical environment:
Most parts of the Netherlands are at or below sea level, so there is plenty of oxygen.
The Netherlands is the lowest country in the world, with an average of-1.22m (2011year) below sea level, and this height is decreasing every year.
It is called Holland, and it also comes from the word "depression", mainly because this land was reclaimed by throwing garbage into the sea.
Strong genetic inheritance, survival of the fittest:
A study published in the Journal of the Royal Society found that tall Dutch men have more children on average than short men.
Gert Steph, a behavioral biologist at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, led the study, which included parents over 45 who were born in the Netherlands.
A sample of 42,665,438+06 people shows that tall men are more likely to pass on the genes that make them grow taller, and they contribute more "tall" genes to the gene pool, so these genes are naturally selected and preserved.
Of course, not all Dutch people are tall. Among them, both parents have 35% genetic genes, 30% acquired factors, and the most important thing in the acquired 30% is diet.
Intake a lot of dairy products (milk, cheese, yogurt);
The Canadian government conducted a study on children to find out whether children who drink milk are taller than those who drink milk. This study shows that children who drink two glasses of milk every day are indeed taller than other people who drink milk.
According to the National Institutes of Health, lactose intolerance is the most common among people of East Asian descent, affecting more than 90% of adults (it is also common among Jews, Arabs, West Africans, Greeks and Italians).
