The tax number is the first thing that needs to be handled after arriving in Italy, and it is the basis for handling other documents.

Tax number is essential for Italian universities to register, apply for residence, open a bank account, sign a lease contract and get a scholarship.

In order to handle the tax number, students should go to Agenzia delle Entrate with valid materials in person, queue up for the tax number and fill out the form.

The required materials include: passport, copies of passport personal information page and visa page, and photos (a copy of the admission ticket stamped by the embassy may also be required).
