During this period, he did a lot of detailed anatomical research on the external nose and lip tissues, put forward the concept of alar cartilage ring structure and its importance in maintaining the external nose shape, expounded the significance of alar cartilage ring structure destruction in the performance of cleft lip and palate, and put forward the correction of cleft lip and nose deformity aimed at repairing and reconstructing alar cartilage ring structure.
1June, 1997, received the doctor's degree in plastic surgery. In August of the same year, he was assigned to Beijing Tongren Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University to engage in plastic surgery.
1999 was promoted to deputy chief physician.
In 2002, he obtained the qualification of tutor for master's degree students, and has instructed 6 master's degree students. He has visited and studied plastic surgery at Keio University, Xinglin University and San Mariana University in Japan.
