Listening accounts for 30 points in the English test paper of the senior high school entrance examination, accounting for a quarter of the total score, and the weight is quite large. But because English is our second language, we seldom have the opportunity to use English in our daily life.
Some teachers use Chinese in English classes except reading texts, so students have little chance to practice listening. Some teachers are limited by conditions and just play the listening content in the text with a tape recorder. The rest of the time is just for students to have some simple conversations or get familiar with the text. Students rarely have the opportunity to practice listening in class.
Therefore, many students regard the listening test as the most difficult part of the English test, and in the English test of the senior high school entrance examination, the listening test is placed at the front, so the answering situation of the listening part will affect the written test later.
So I think it is very necessary to introduce some effective methods to students to do a good job in listening test. Let me share with you the experience I have summed up in my years of teaching.
Make full preparations before the exam and keep a good attitude.
The listening comprehension part is in front of the written test, and the recording is played within the specified time. The listening questions must be completed within this time. Listening test should take into account two parts, one is to listen to the recorded content, and the other is to answer quickly according to the requirements of the topic. When one question is finished, the idea should be transferred to the next question immediately.
Therefore, in the process of doing listening comprehension questions, candidates are required to be fully prepared to avoid nervousness and impatience. If you really feel nervous before the exam, you can make some self-adjustments, such as taking a deep breath, walking outside the examination room and chatting with other students.
If you encounter questions you don't understand in the process of doing the questions, you should be willing to give up, turn to the next question in time, and keep a clear head throughout the examination. This is the first condition to do a good job in listening.
Take some time to read the questions before you do them.
Candidates get the test paper and fill in the necessary information quickly, so they should race against time to read the questions and try to have a preliminary understanding of the questions, which is of great help to the later answers.
For example, there will be four pictures in the first question of listening, and different people or things will be presented in the pictures. A glance at the illustrations will tell you what key contents to grasp when listening to the recording, and some just need to hear one keyword.
