Gynecology of TCM is two disciplines of TCM. It uses the basic theories and methods of Chinese medicine to understand and study women's anatomy, physiology, etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment, and to prevent and treat women's unique diseases (menstruation, pregnancy, childbirth and miscellaneous diseases).

Under the guidance of syndrome differentiation and treatment, pay attention to the theoretical characteristics of kidney-qi-heaven-chong ren-uterus reproductive axis and the characteristics of female physiological periodicity, combine the theoretical knowledge of modern medical gynecology, track the development trend of the main research direction of this discipline, and use the basic methods of evidence-based medicine and scientific research to carry out gynecological clinical practice and research.

This major requires students to have strong clinical analysis and thinking ability, be able to independently handle common diseases and frequently-occurring diseases in this discipline, master various inspection and treatment techniques, and provide professional guidance to junior doctors, so as to reach the clinical work level required at the end of the first-stage training as stipulated in the Trial Measures for Standardized Training of Residents issued by the Ministry of Health.
