Carabasse (scientific name: Carabasse) belongs to COLEOPTERA Carabidae of Insecta. It is about 3-4cm long and about 1- 1.6cm wide. The body color changes greatly, and there are many color types, usually the whole body is metallic green, and the front chest backboard and the outer edge of Coleoptera are golden red. Six rows of longitudinal lines are formed on each COLEOPTERA by black, blue-black or blue-green tubercles, of which three rows are thicker and three rows are thinner and longer. Good at walking in a hurry, the tarsal joint of the male's forefoot is slightly enlarged, which can be distinguished from the female in appearance.

Labium often inhabits masonry, fallen leaves or shallow soil. Adults usually prey at night and hide in litter, loose soil or weeds during the day. Their favorite foods are fat moths, fly larvae and soft-skinned animals, such as earthworms, slugs and snails. Labium is a completely abnormal insect, which goes through four stages: egg, larva, pupa and adult. This is unique to China. Distributed in Sichuan, Fujian, Jiangxi and other provinces. The species of Carabidae are widely distributed, and the differentiation among various groups is obvious, so it is an ideal object for studying animal geography. It is a national second-class key protected wild animal.
