A Brief Introduction to the Author of China's Music Theory
Du, male, Hebei native, doctor of philosophy, was born in 1945. 1965 graduated from the Music Department of Northwest Normal University, 198 1 obtained the Master of Arts degree from the Chinese Academy of Literature and Art, and obtained the Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of British Columbia in 2002. He has taught at Indiana University in the United States, the University of British Columbia in Canada, Victoria University in New Zealand and the Liszt Conservatory of Music in Budapest. He used to be the vice president of China World Music Society, China Music Therapy Society and China Minority Music Society. There are more than ten monographs, such as Comparative Study of Folk Songs between China and Hungary, Introduction to China Minority Music, Introduction to China Minority Folk Music, Basic Theory of China National Music, Music Culture of Silk Road, Introduction to China National Instrumental Music, Introduction to China Traditional Music and Introduction to Ethnomusicology, which have been published at home and abroad for more than 200 times in Chinese, English and Hungarian languages.
