Reading:
It is also important to read English story books, starting with thin stories and few new words. Read as many thin books as possible. Gradually you will want to read thicker books, and your reading ability will become better.

From this example, you can see how to understand a technical vocabulary in a technical way: you need to understand a very basic knowledge of a field so that you can understand more complicated terms or theories.
Before learning technical English in your research field, I have a good suggestion to save your time:
Use your first language (Chinese) to understand technical knowledge, then you may not have the second difficulty.
