Full width means that one character occupies two standard character positions. Chinese characters, full-width English characters, graphic symbols and special characters in GB23 12-80 are all full-width characters. General system commands do not use full-width characters, but only use full-width characters when doing word processing. Punctuation marks of full-angle input are equivalent to those of normal Chinese characters.
A Chinese character should occupy two English characters. People call the position occupied by an English character a half angle, and the position occupied by a Chinese character a full angle. When inputting Chinese characters, the system provides two different input states: half-angle and full-angle. However, English letters, symbols and numbers are different from Chinese characters. In the half-width state, they are regarded as English characters, while in the full-width state, they can be regarded as Chinese characters. Punctuation symbols used for Chinese characters use full angles.
