The media of Beijing Normal University is still very good, with strong teachers and high quality students.

With the rapid development of network and information age, news information dissemination has penetrated into all aspects of social life. Beijing Normal University seized this historical development opportunity and listed "Journalism and Communication" as the first-level discipline direction of the school's key construction. Together with Guangming Daily, it took advantage of the discipline development trend to promote the college construction. At present, the college offers majors such as communication, journalism and publishing, establishes a multi-level training system for journalism and communication talents from undergraduate to master, and actively develops characteristic academic directions such as Marxist journalism, cultural communication, media literacy education, digital publishing, new media communication and communication effect analysis.

Over the past 20 years, journalism and communication has trained more than 2,000 undergraduates, academic postgraduates, professional postgraduates, doctoral students and international students. Both undergraduate and postgraduate education adopts the "double tutorial system" which integrates academic and industrial fields, and pays attention to students' social practice and professional skills training. Graduates of our college are famous for their solid theoretical foundation, keen observation of media culture, strong adaptability, wide knowledge and beautiful writing. Many graduates have become the backbone of China's news, publishing and online new media industries.

I. Training objectives

Facing the forefront of media development, this major cultivates elite talents with a broad foundation in humanities, social sciences and natural sciences, master the basic theories and skills of communication, have a strong international vision and the ability to use modern media technology, and are full of innovative spirit and a high sense of social responsibility.

Second, the training requirements

Students are required to have a firm Marxist view of journalism; Familiar with the history, present situation and new trend of media integration in Chinese and foreign news communication; Have a solid basic knowledge of humanities and social sciences and a certain basic knowledge of natural sciences. Proficient in news interview, writing and editing skills, with all-media literacy and skills. Proficient in mastering a foreign language, with international vision and cross-cultural communication skills. Students must take the National Students' Physical Health Standard test every year and meet the relevant requirements of the National Students' Physical Health Standard before graduation.

Communication theory, news interview and writing, news photography, all-media report planning, Chinese and foreign news communication history, communication research methods, audience analysis, communication ethics and regulations, new media communication, digital publishing, social media and mobile internet, data news and network data mining, digital media technology application, etc.

Practice teaching runs through the whole process of talent training, and practice teaching bases are established in Guangming Daily, online new media and school news center. Most courses have practical teaching contents ranging from 4- 16 hours. Experts and scholars in the industry can be invited to the classroom, and students can also be taken to the media to participate in the actual combat of news communication. Strengthen case teaching in course teaching and establish a database of Chinese and foreign classic case teaching.
