Brief introduction of official script:

Official script is a common solemn font style in Chinese characters. It is generally believed that it is developed from seal script, with wide and flat font, long horizontal painting and short vertical painting, and pays attention to "swallow tail of silkworm head" and "twists and turns". Lishu was founded in the Qin Dynasty. It is said that Cheng Miao was Li, who reached the peak in the Eastern Han Dynasty, inherited the tradition of seal script and started the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, which had a great influence on later calligraphy. Calligraphy is known as "Han Li Tang Kai".

Structural features of official script;

1. The square is divided into left and right parts. The strokes contract the longitudinal strokes and strengthen the lateral expansion.

2. Start writing and collect goose tails. This is a typical feature of the pen used in official script, especially in official script, which almost always uses horizontal painting.

3. Turn a circle into a square and an arc into a straight one. These are two basic methods to simplify seal script in official script.

4. Change the picture to a point and the connection to a break. The midpoint of official script is independent and no longer attached to painting.

5. Strengthen the thickness change. Lishu deliberately emphasized the action of lifting and pressing, which formed a significant change in the thickness and inheritance of stroke trajectory.

Representative works of official script:

In the Tang Dynasty, Han Zemu, Cai, and Shi were always equally divided. Among them, Han Zemu is the head of the four schools, and his masterpiece of official script is Xiyue Shenbiao. Stone, known as "Stone Stone Lang", is the masterpiece of "Great Wisdom Zen Master Monument". There are not many works handed down from generation to generation by Cai. In addition, the famous official script works in the Tang Dynasty include Xu Chen's Song Yang Guan, Tang Xuanzong's Shitai Xiaojing, Li Bai's Shangjie and Du Mu's Zhang Shi.
