Cultivate good psychological quality
journey
Most journalists are at the grassroots level. Without the advantage of "overlooking the bottom", media reporters will inevitably encounter difficulties and obstacles in their work, and even suffer setbacks and failures. However, no matter what kind of situation you encounter, you should keep a positive attitude, climb persistently towards the set goal, and don't give up halfway because of difficulties and resistance. This requires the cultivation and cultivation of good psychological quality.
Full of courage, never get stage fright on any occasion.
Courage means courage and courage. Courage and courage are too important for a news officer. We often have to meet all kinds of people, no matter who we meet, no matter what background, authority and difficulties the interviewee has, we need you to treat them calmly and calmly with a normal heart. We often encounter some sudden major events and changes, and even pose a life-threatening threat to journalists. You need to have enough courage and courage to rush forward without hesitation, and you must never be timid. In 1930s, Fan Changjiang, alone, braved bullets and smoke, crossed extremely dangerous Tibetan-Chinese mixed areas, virgin forests, snowy mountains and grasslands, Gobi desert and rapids canyon, and wrote about the northwest corner of China, which stood out in history. In the 1960s, Guo, a famous reporter from Xinhua News Agency, climbed Mount Everest with climbers, regardless of the lack of oxygen and cold. He personally experienced the extreme hypoxia and cold in mountainous areas and the tenacious perseverance of athletes, and wrote the thrilling "Heroes Reach the Top of the Earth". Among the reporters I contacted, many comrades not only have ideas, but also have courage. On the occasion of commemorating the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army's Long March, a press officer of a certain army walked 25,000 miles along the snowy mountain grassland that the Red Army crossed alone, collected and wrote a wealth of live news, and published reportage with the theme of the Long March.
In my interview experience, the only regret is that I have not participated in the war and experienced the baptism of blood and fire. But all aspects of the test, large and small, have also experienced a lot. When I first became a press officer, I didn't have much courage. When I first met the newspaper editor, I was playing drums in my heart. I forgot all about a good paragraph, and I didn't make it clear for a long time. The editor gave the manuscript a "death" on the spot. After years of beating and tempering, my courage gradually increased. Personally, I have the courage to help myself overcome the difficulties and obstacles on the news road, because sometimes the opportunity is fleeting, and if you are indecisive and timid, the opportunity will slip away quietly. Over the years, I have interviewed more than 1000 ordinary soldiers and leaders of the Central Military Commission, personally visited military exercises, and interviewed dozens of times in the front line of flood fighting and emergency rescue, and never flinched.
1On August 7th, 998, after the Yangtze River levee burst in Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province, the flood was like a furious lion, and the breach was extremely dangerous. In order to interview on the spot and see with my own eyes how the officers and men stepped forward and tried their best to block the breach, I led two press officers of Jiangxi Military Region to board a landing boat carrying 300 rescue officers and soldiers, rushed to the breach site, and immediately boarded a big ship full of coal blocked at the breach. At that time, all the officers and men wore life jackets, but I didn't. My life jacket was given to another officer. The three of us stayed on this big ship for nearly 20 hours, and we didn't get back to Jiujiang City for publication until the next afternoon, and then returned to the breach site. The first night of blocking is the most dangerous, because anything can happen in that dangerous situation. Imagine that if the 60-meter breach continues to expand, this big ship and several small boats behind it will be washed away, and the officers and men on our ship will undoubtedly be buried in the rapids. But what I thought most at that time was that I had to see it with my own eyes, hear it with my own ears and do it with the officers and men, otherwise how could I find the news? There are so many officers and men fighting on the spot that they are not afraid. I have nothing to be afraid of. Because I was at the scene, I saw the most dangerous and spectacular scene of officers and men blocking the mouth. They have lived and died together for a long time, fighting floods with their own flesh and blood. It's amazing. It is precisely because I was on the scene that I saw leading cadres take the lead and set an example. In particular, Dong, the deputy commander of the military region who visited the front line and stood on the sunken ship to direct the battle, held on for five days and five nights at the breach. Because I was at the scene, I felt the concern of the leaders of the Military Commission. In the early morning of the 8 th, Chi Haotian, vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, called the mobile phone of Deputy Commander Dong to greet the officers and men who blocked the traffic, demanding that they resolutely complete the task and pay attention to safety ... What they saw and felt at the traffic jam scene was far more than that, so they later had a steady stream of news materials.
Speaking of this matter, I want to make it clear: as a military reporter, your role does not allow you to be timid and look back; Your responsibility does not allow you to use shyness and introversion as a shield. You are always worried about everything and dare not cross the line. You should always be ready to go to the battlefield, the scene of floods and fires, and all other dangerous situations. You should always be ready to interview an important person, an inaccessible person, or even a dangerous person. At this time, you can't retreat, and there is no retreat. Retreat means failure, at least it means that you are not qualified for your current role. Only by facing it calmly and rushing forward without hesitation can there be hope of success.
Although I am not discouraged by failure, I still have my faith after tempering.
As an accomplished press officer, there are many merit cards in his personal file. Some of them have achieved a lot. One of my former colleagues got a grade of 18 with only the third grade. I have to admit that he has done a good job and achieved great results, and he is successful in journalism. According to this, some outsiders seem to have discovered a phenomenon, "it is too easy for journalists to make meritorious deeds." In fact, every "merit" of a news officer is not easy, and only the parties themselves know how many failures and setbacks there are.
If we count the probability of failure and frustration, we will find that there is probably no field or major in the army with higher probability of failure and frustration than news officers. Especially in the post of teacher news officer, eight of the ten articles you wrote were not adopted by newspapers and magazines, and eight of the ten news documentaries you shot were not broadcast by TV stations, which is often the case. What's more, I have written dozens and hundreds of articles. In recent years, the media has developed, not only in large quantity, but also in large capacity. There are more than a dozen newspapers, dozens of editions, and even more than 100 editions. Ten years ago, there were only four fixed editions of Junbao, while Junbao was a Wednesday tabloid with a very limited amount of manuscripts. At that time, there was a famous press officer in the artillery system of our military region. When he was a soldier, he was young and enthusiastic about writing reports. During his three years in the army, he actually wrote 600 articles, but none of them were published in the newspaper. When he wrote the article 60 1, he couldn't help writing a letter to the editor of the newspaper. Not long after, he came to the newspaper with two bags of manuscripts. The editor was moved. He chose one from many manuscripts, which refreshed the theme and enriched the material. This experience was revealed when he introduced his own reporting experience. In the face of repeated failures and setbacks, he is always so firm and persistent that he will never give up until the manuscript is published. After tasting the initial success, he suddenly lost his temper and couldn't accept it. Later, he became a news officer of a military unit and wrote many influential reports.
Compared with him, I should be lucky. 1984 began to work as a press officer. In the next two and a half years, I wrote more than 300 articles and used more than 30 articles in the military newspaper. The probability is only 10%. In most cases, I have tasted the bitter fruit of failure. Especially during this period, my manuscript has never been used by the People's Liberation Army Daily, but I have been writing constantly, and I will stuff it into the mailbox when I finish it. It was not until June 1986 that my first manuscript was finally published in the People's Liberation Army Daily. This is a newsletter with more than 1500 words, ranking second only to the headline. The excitement at that time is hard to describe in words. The leaders in the brigade were very happy and praised me for writing this manuscript. I seldom heard such praise before. I was thinking, are the hundreds of articles I wrote in front of me really that bad? Is it really not enough to publish? I don't think we should look at it this way. As far as published manuscripts are concerned, previous manuscripts are all failures, but writing manuscripts is like a wall. Every article is a brick, and every piece is indispensable, otherwise there will be no capped piece. If the top brick is regarded as success and the bottom brick as failure, it confirms the adage that failure is the mother of success and success is the fruit of failure. On the other hand, there is also a relationship between quantity and quality. Only by accumulating a certain amount can we achieve a qualitative leap.
A journalist who is determined to make a difference should face up to failures and setbacks, regard them as grindstones to sharpen his life beliefs and paving stones to improve his professional ability, and persevere despite many setbacks. At the same time, we should calm down, rationally analyze the causes of failures and setbacks, find effective ways to overcome obstacles, learn from a painful experience, fight a battle, and constantly improve our own work ability.
Endure grievances, criticisms and accusations.
News work emphasizes positive publicity, but it does not mean that public opinion supervision and critical reporting are not needed. This requires journalists to be highly responsible for the cause of the party and the people, publicize the advanced models and experiences of positive, healthy and progressive with great fanfare, and lash out at a few backward, negative, dark and corrupt things at the same time. Everyone is singing hymns happily. If you poke someone else's "fault", you may have to bear the pressure and even take revenge. This is not an easy thing. In the 1980s and 1990s, China Youth Daily published many critical reports. CCTV's "Focus Interview" column frequently exposes the dark side of society and even corruption, which is well received by readers and audiences, but the media has also suffered unimaginable pressure.
I admire those journalists who have a strong sense of social responsibility and justice. They often risk being misunderstood, retaliated or even risking their lives, expose the darkness, criticize the shortcomings of the times, and use the power of public opinion to add fuel to the improvement of the party style and social atmosphere. While praising the people, journalists sometimes encounter things that make them angry. Out of a responsible attitude towards army building, they have to be "equal". When I was a press officer during my trip, I met an incident: the resident sold money to dig more sand, hollowed out an army barracks underground, and the house soon fell down. I was very angry when I read it, so I wrote an internal reference to the People's Liberation Army newspaper. Unexpectedly, this shocked the leaders of the military commission and awarded the internal reference to the leaders of Jiangsu Province. Due to the strong intervention of the upper level, the problem was quickly solved. Then, I sent a speculative newsletter entitled "Collapse" in the newspaper, which made a profound analysis of the matter and drew some lessons and enlightenment from it. However, this move has not been well received, and some leaders criticized it in a reproachful tone, thinking that this is a problem of the unit and is not conducive to close relations with the localities. I suddenly felt cold after hearing this. In the attitude of being responsible for army building, I reflected the problems truthfully, but I was not understood. But I held back, because the problem has been solved, and there is no point in taking it seriously. What's wrong with being wronged? In fact, I have endured such grievances more than once.
It is also possible that there is something wrong with your work and you are criticized or even accused by the leaders. 1986 10, I went to a company for an interview. This company used to be an advanced company. I have reported it more than once in the past. Half a year ago, the construction of the company was still very lively, but this time I only lived for two days and found that the company had many problems. After my trip, I wrote a newsletter truthfully, exposing the decline of the company's construction. The military newspaper was published with a small change, and a cactus was painted in an eye-catching place. After the manuscript was published in the newspaper, it caused an uproar during the trip. The criticized company officials not only refused to admit their debts, but also reflected to their superiors that my report distorted the facts; The leaders concerned are also unhappy. A month later, the secretary didn't even stamp my manuscript. Think calmly afterwards, the main problem lies in yourself. The construction of a company once went downhill, which is very common in the army. You can report it to the leaders of the battalion or brigade and help them solve it at all levels. However, at that time, I was too idealistic and simplistic. I didn't take into account that my behavior would bring passivity to the leaders at work, thinking that I would finish a story in the newspaper. As everyone knows, such newspapers and periodicals have exposed the internal contradictions and complex problems that were not difficult to solve, and the lessons are profound. After encountering similar contradictions and problems, I did some thinking and analysis calmly and stopped acting rashly.
The nature and function of journalism require our journalists to stand up to criticism. When your work is not done well, or a task is not completed well; When you often work overtime, but you haven't reported for a long time and there is no result; When your manuscript makes mistakes or causes serious inaccuracies, the leaders will criticize you, colleagues will ridicule you, and the parties will accuse you or even sue you. The more impulsive you are at this time, the correct attitude should be to accept criticism patiently and learn lessons seriously. In particular, it is necessary to correct the attitude of news work and make it clear that news reports help the army building, not add chaos, and those extreme practices that are not conducive to the army building should not be taken.
