UPS opens logistics park in Ontario
Mississauga, Ontario–UPS announced yesterday that it will open an 800,000-square-foot logistics park in Burlington, Ontario for UPS supply chain solutions.
According to UPS, Burlington complex is also the Canadian headquarters of UPS supply chain solutions, with a construction cost of US$ 80 million (Canadian dollars), making it the second largest UPS logistics facility in North America.
The new multi-customer park will provide order fulfillment services; Use complex warehouse management, transportation and international technical platforms to deploy key components, receive goods and prepare for shipment for multiple customers.
The campus consists of two buildings: a 600,000-square-foot distribution center for consumer goods and high-tech enterprises, and a 207,000-square-foot health care center focusing on the needs of the pharmaceutical and medical equipment industries.
The new park has many advanced IT systems, including order management system and warehouse management system. With the 150 loading platform, it is equipped with an ultra-flat finished floor, which can pick up orders accurately and quickly at a height of up to 30 feet using RF wireless handheld devices.
UPS said that the facility is located in Burlington, close to major airports and highways, and will become the gateway for Canadian enterprises to enter any US or global market.
