How to understand the sentence that academic morality is "the lifeline of a university"
Good academic ethics is the basic requirement for the quality of scientific researchers, the moral bottom line and lifeline of the school, and an important guarantee for the healthy development of scientific research. Contemporary college students, especially graduate students, as builders and successors of the future socialist cause, their academic morality not only affects the future and destiny of individuals, but also affects the development and future of the whole nation and even the country. If there is no active guidance and strict restraint on academic ethics, it will lead to incorrect or even academic demonstration behavior of graduate students, which will not only affect the authenticity of their personal academic achievements, but also seriously promote the emergence and spread of academic anomie. Therefore, the research on the construction of graduate students' academic ethics should become the top priority of higher education today. In recent years, the phenomenon of academic anomie of graduate students exposed by colleges and universities has intensified. In 2006, Gan, a female graduate student of Jinan University, was expelled from the school because her two course papers were found to be plagiarized. In 2006, Ding, a master student majoring in agricultural extension in Northwest University, and Yu, a doctoral student in the School of Economics and Management, were dismissed because they were found to have plagiarized seriously in the paper expert review. He Haibo, a Ph.D. student of Zhejiang University in 2008, was found to have published eight papers during his doctoral period, all of which had serious academic misconduct in varying degrees, such as copying the experimental data of the original doctoral tutor. Although these cases can not fully reflect the general attitude of graduate students towards academic ethics, they at least show that there are some problems in the construction of academic ethics of graduate students at present.
