When we came into contact with argumentative writing, the teacher always stressed that the argument must be clear. After all, the graduation thesis is a long argumentative paper, so when writing, you must write out the main points to let readers know what you want to prove or what kind of purpose you want to achieve in the end.

Although the main idea is a short sentence, it is the most difficult sentence in the whole paper. Only by reading a lot of literature and supporting with relevant data (experiments) can you write your own theme with confidence. Only in this way can you confidently tell the reader what you intend to prove.

But we should make it clear that the argument is not the theme of the paper, but the explanation or viewpoint within the theme. This is a concrete proposition you are putting forward, and you will use the rest of the paper to demonstrate it.

For example, you may be writing a paper on the relationship between the training of core strength and the level of athletes. This is the theme of this article. The main idea will list your thoughts or suggestions. For example, you may decide to prove that "core area muscle training can effectively improve athletes' performance".

You can also say that they are ineffective or harmful. In either case, this theme means that your argument takes a clear position or view on a specific topic and begins to support this view.
