Festival time of Zhuang nationality: held on the first day, fifteenth day and thirtieth day of the first lunar month.
Zhuang people have been casting and using bronze drums for more than 2000 years. Zhuang people in Donglan Ai Dong and Changle Township carried bronze drums to the mountains near the village and hung them on the wooden frame. First, they beat drums to worship their ancestors, and then they played bronze drums. The method is drum-to-drum, small drum-to-small drum, four sides 1 group, 3 people per drum, taking turns to play without interruption. Win by playing loudly and beautifully, with bright rhythm and lasting endurance. Games often stay up all night. At the same time, young men and women sang together. At the end of the game, people had a picnic with food such as Zongba brought from home, and songs and laughter resounded through the valley.
Festival time of Shui nationality: the first day after the Tomb-Sweeping Day in the lunar calendar every year.
Shui nationality is a minority with a long history and splendid culture, with a total population of nearly 300,000. He mainly lives in Sandu County, duyun city, in the upper reaches of Liujiang River and Longjiang River, and there are three water towns of Jichang, Yanghe River and Fenghe River in duyun city. The first day after the Tomb-Sweeping Day in the lunar calendar every year is a traditional festival for the Shui people in and outside duyun city (namely, Jichang, Yanghe and Fenghe). The water language is called "borrowing thoughts", which means Tonggu Festival.
The Shui people love bronze drums for generations, and regard them as symbols of power, wealth and totem worship. Some people say that Shuizushan Township is a "kingdom of bronze drums", which is of course a bit exaggerated and romantic. However, more than 400 ancient bronze drums are still preserved and used in three Shui townships adjacent to Sandu County and duyun city, and almost every natural village or family has one or two bronze drums, which is amazing.
As a "gift" to welcome the New Year, a huge bronze drum with a diameter of 4.2 meters, a height of 2.6 meters and a weight of 7 tons was finally cast by 20 workers from the Weishi Folk Copper Drum Foundry in Xunle Miao Township, Huanjiang, Guangxi for more than 6 months.
