How to write the civil service examination application is easier to get high marks?
On the Civil Service Examination by the Marking Teacher: Four Mistakes in Applying for and Answering Questions

There are rules to follow in doing everything, and so is applying for exams. If you master this rule, you can successfully pass the application examination; If you violate this rule, you will be abandoned by it, whether you are a genius or a hero.

The key points of the answer must be obtained from the given materials through analysis, generalization, refining and processing. This is the most basic, because our examination syllabus clearly puts forward that "the ability to solve practical problems, as well as the ability to read, understand, comprehensively analyze, ask and solve problems and the ability to write and express, are mainly measured by analyzing, summarizing, refining and processing given materials."

There will be such words in the exam syllabus every year, and there will be such words in 2008 and 2009. For example, the outline of the 2007 national civil service recruitment examination: mainly through the analysis, generalization, refining and processing of given materials, test the candidates' ability to solve practical problems, as well as their ability to read, understand, comprehensively analyze, solve problems and write. All of them are subjective questions, and the examination time limit is 150 minutes, with a full score of 100. Application materials usually involve one or several specific social problems or social phenomena. Applicants are required to accurately understand the main contents reflected in the materials, comprehensively analyze all aspects involved in the problems, form and put forward their own opinions, ideas or solutions on the basis of grasping the theme and spirit of the materials, and express them accurately and smoothly in words.

The notes at the beginning of the annual application paper also indicate, "Please read the given materials carefully and then answer them in turn according to the application requirements." (Please refer to the real questions over the years) However, I saw many candidates at the marking site, but they didn't answer the questions according to the materials. This is the number one killer that leads to poor performance of candidates! Because of this, many talented candidates "got off to a bad start". Some answer questions according to the national documents recited by themselves, some answer questions according to the opinions in newspapers and magazines, some answer questions according to their own professional knowledge, and some answer questions purely according to their own feelings and preferences, which will digress.

After the national civil service examination in 2005, there was a female doctor in a school who scored only 45 points in the examination. She asked me what the grading standard was. Why did she only get 45 points for such an excellent answer sheet? I asked her why she thought her answer sheet was an excellent answer sheet. At that time, the National Document No.1 was about the issues concerning agriculture, countryside and farmers. This year, the examination questions are about rural farmers. Therefore, according to her good understanding of national policies, she completed the examination paper well. I want her to write the answer from memory. After reading it, I feel that she really has a deep theoretical foundation, but her answer sheet can only get 45 points, because the topics we designed will not conflict with the current political principles and theoretical policies of the country, but the theoretical policies of the country are aimed at the macro national conditions, and our materials are based on some specific cases and have their own special points. Therefore, it is inevitable to ignore the specific problems involved in the materials when answering the questions completely according to the national theory. This is a wrong tendency to answer questions: answer questions according to the national current affairs and political policies that you recite.

Others answer questions according to news and public opinion. Every year, the application will focus on hot issues of current politics. These hot issues will be reported in newspapers and magazines. Some candidates have the heart to recite these articles in the examination room and answer questions according to the views of these articles. But how can the angle of newspaper and magazine articles be exactly the same as the examination questions? According to the news and public opinion rather than the examination materials, there will inevitably be deviation in answering questions. We are not opposed to knowing more about the background knowledge of current politics, knowing more about the major policies of the country and improving our theoretical literacy. However, they are definitely not ready-made answers! In 2006, I met a reporter from a newspaper in Guangdong. His application score is only 37 points, and he is very suspicious that we "ignore human life" when marking papers. I asked him, how can we say that we are "indifferent to human life" when marking papers? He said that this year, he took the exam for emergencies. As a newspaper reporter, he wrote a lot of news articles about emergencies and read a lot, so when he went to the examination room and saw that the examination questions turned out to be emergencies he was familiar with, he was so happy that he didn't read the materials carefully, but completed the answer sheet easily according to his understanding of emergencies. The result is only 37. Is the media's understanding of public emergencies all wrong? No, but the things reported by the news media must be very different from the specific cases selected by the given materials.

It is even more wrong to answer questions according to your own professional knowledge. Guangdong civil service exam has a problem of spam messages for one year. In the graduation thesis, there is a female master who studies spam messages, and she answers questions according to her professional knowledge, thinking that she is really lucky this year and will definitely get the highest score, because her research on this issue is the most professional. However, the final score is only 46 points! When designing examination questions, we should avoid the influence of professional knowledge, because we are taking the exam for candidates of different majors. If only science and engineering students can answer one question this year, only medical candidates can answer another question next year, and only history students can answer another question next year, will our examination be fair, just and extensive? So it is wrong to answer questions according to professional knowledge.

There are also a small number of candidates who answer questions completely according to their own emotional preferences. Our annual examination questions are all about specific current affairs and political issues, which have not been handled well. Candidates are required to correctly understand and solve these problems. However, there are also candidates who express their indignation at these problems on the answer sheet to show their love and hate for the motherland and the people, as well as their aversion to corrupt bureaucrats and other issues. Even if the problems given in the materials are not correctly analyzed, they cannot give correct solutions. Just talking about the government's mistakes there. This answer is definitely in the wrong direction. We should correctly analyze and solve these problems to test whether candidates have the ability to enter politics. If we just vent our indignation and criticize others, what problems can we solve?

Therefore, we must remember and strictly follow the requirements of the application exam: answer according to the materials! Analyze, summarize, refine and process the given materials carefully and accurately, and get the answer. So how do you get the answer from the material? First of all, we should read the material well and read it in the right way.

Ha ha. The exam is coming soon. Summarizing the above analysis and the real questions I have done, my feelings are as follows:

First, although the application is a subjective topic, it contains objectivity and leaves the objective basis. Subjective comments are just loose sand and cannot be completed.

Second, it is very important to examine the questions. Only by reviewing the questions can we set the position. Only by setting the position can we stand in the right position (including identity transformation and viewpoint) and stay on the topic.

Third, take materials as the center. Be sure to hold the material tightly, eat it dry and squeeze it out. Sticking to materials is the key to success, because we can extract at least 500 words from materials when we write about 2000 words.

Fourth, on the premise of drawing materials, we should be able to integrate them and make them logical. Only in this way can the articles written be fluent and scientific.

One thing can be used for reference: the just-concluded Central Working Economic Conference has defined the keynote of economic development next year: preventing overheating, preventing inflation and attaching importance to people's livelihood!
