Significance of Longzhou Uprising
Deng Xiaoping led the revolutionary struggle in Zuojiang area for only a few short days, but these days were so extraordinary. It was the most glorious and proud day in the history of Zuojiang area. Decades have passed, and how many past events have been forgotten by the dust of the years. Deng Xiaoping has a deep memory of this period of history and has mentioned it many times. 1962, when the people of Longzhou built the Longzhou Uprising and Revolutionary Martyrs Monument, Deng Xiaoping, then in General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, wrote an inscription for the monument in his busy schedule: "The fruits of revolutionary victory are condensed by the blood of the martyrs. The great achievements of the Gongba Army and the people's revolutionary martyrs will live in our memory forever ... "The lines between the lines are full of ardent nostalgia for the heroes of the Gongba Army and the people of all ethnic groups in the old revolutionary areas of Longzhou and Zuojiang.
