2.3. 1 research history and overview

There are few reports about wood fossils on the Korean peninsula, and the earliest report comes from Fé fé lix (1887; ; Cedroxylon regulare? ppert,Araucarioxylon koreanum Félix),shima kura( 1936; Phyllocladoides Gothan, X.X. Latiporsum (Cramer) Gothan, PhyllocCladoxylon Heizyoense Shimakura) and Ogura (1944; ; Wide porous grass. In recent ten years, paleobotanists Jin Kai, Zheng Yikai, Suzuki Mi, Xu Ming and Bai Yisong (2002,2005) and En Jingzheng, Jin Qingxi, Jin Zhongxian and Suzuki Guangfu (2006,54,38+0,2000). At present, 24 genera and 34 species of wood fossils published on the Korean peninsula have been collected.

2.3.2 Distribution of wood fossils

On the Korean peninsula, wood fossils are mainly distributed in Mesozoic and Cenozoic strata, with specific locations and horizons as shown in Figure 2.3. 1.
