The leaders of Hubin Middle School have always attached great importance to the mental health education of the school. Hubin Middle School took the lead in establishing a student counseling service organization-"Xinhai Navigation" in the city. It has become the most comprehensive psychological counseling center in the city, including individual counseling room, group counseling room, psychological catharsis, psychological measurement room, outdoor relaxation area, sand table counseling room and the latest musical minds counseling room, with a total area of more than 200 square meters. "Xinhai Navigation" also has the top teachers and the strongest psychological teachers in the city, including two full-time teachers and four part-time teachers, all of whom are professionally trained and qualified as consultants.
Construct a colorful psychological education model
At present, on the basis of institutionalization and standardization, psychological health education in Hubin Middle School actively explores and innovates to build a more colorful psychological education model.
1, improve the curriculum and focus on prevention.
Since 2002, Hubin Middle School has offered mental health courses in junior high schools, which is the first school in Xiamen to incorporate mental health into the formal curriculum system. Psychology-related courses have been offered for six years, and the psychological counseling activities of the graduating classes of two grades have achieved remarkable results, forming a mature and perfect mental health curriculum system.
In the classroom teaching, the psychological teacher abandons the old model of focusing on treatment and theoretical teaching in the conventional system, pays attention to experience and practice, and emphasizes training in group activities and various interesting psychological games, so as to improve students' psychological quality and enhance their ability to cope with setbacks, self-knowledge and self-improvement, thus preventing the occurrence of various serious psychological problems.
2. Individual consultation, focusing on two levels.
In addition to the effective psychological curriculum system, Hubin Middle School insists on providing psychological counseling and team counseling for some teachers and students with psychological problems.
Every Monday to Friday, 12: 30 to 2: 00 is a fixed personal consultation time for Xinhai Navigation. Psychological teachers are on duty in turn to provide psychological measurement and counseling services for teachers and students who come to the door. As a supplement to psychology courses and psychological counseling, Xinhai Navigation regularly holds special lectures on psychology, which has also formed a mature system.
In addition to the lectures offered by psychological teachers, class teachers who have received professional psychological training have also turned the traditional class meeting into a new position for mental health education. Class meetings on various psychological related topics such as unity, gratitude, honesty, self-help and mutual assistance are one of the key contents of school education and teaching observation and discussion. Each class should hold a class meeting on psychological theme at least once a year, and the class teacher and students will discuss the topic of spiritual growth together.
4. Group counseling and crisis intervention
Adhering to the concept of "students' psychological navigation", Hubin Middle School has tried various channels of mental health education besides psychological courses, special lectures and individual psychological counseling. Psychological websites, psychological dramas, psychological cartoons, psychological parks and other special projects are dotted in students' campus life, which has become a distinctive landscape in the campus culture of Hubin Middle School. First of all, the psychological garden activities of the two grades in junior high school fully mobilized the students' enthusiasm for activities and gained spiritual growth in happy games. The pre-test group psychological counseling expansion activities of the graduating classes of two grades have become the most important lesson recognized by the teachers and students of the graduating classes.
